After 6+ months, I'm still really pleased with this tailgate skin. I've hauled a ton of roof shingles, wood, washers/dryers, a fridge, etc. and it's been fantastic. A few nicks and scrapes from heavy usage, so I can say that it's held up really well. Just hauling heavy pieces like the fridge, I was really thankful I had it vs the old plastic bed liner (that often allowed the gate to flex when something heavy pushed up against it, messing up the latches). I don't often go out of my way to review a product, much less go back to a review and further praise the product. I'd get it again - and just checking out the second design with the ribbing, I'd probably get that because it looks slick.

Oh, and it's definitely more pleasing to the butt cheeks to sit on :p haha

We appreciate you taking the time for a review after it's been put through some real world test and are happy you still love the product.

Just a small side note. Where the powder coat was scratched off to bare metal, dust it with some low gloss black spray paint to avoid rust. And it blends perfectly so you won't even know it was damaged.

Just ordered one of these .... Good lord do I need it!
Should help with loading dead things as the plastic flexes every time I step on it

Nice kill. I've been trying to get friends of mine to go in on a 3-4 boar hunt in Tennessee.

Yes and no , it's bulging from a little intercrainial hydrostatic shock, but if you look closely it's not very boar-ish lol

Waiting like a kid at chrimmas for my plate to show lol

Received my smooth reinforcement skin yesterday. Perfect condition on arrival. Install took about 15 minutes. I installed the plastic cover. Did not have the little tabs on the plastic cover on my 2015 DCSB. Tailgate feels 10x stronger and looks/functions like stock. Excellent product. Thanks!

I received mine today and installed it in 15 mins as well . This is what I've been needing in my life ! My tailgate feels like a real tailgate now lol. I sandwiched the plate under the factory plastic . Perfect fit and finish

Where can the tailgate cap be ordered? And it replaces the plastic trim piece on top of the tailgate right?

Mobtown has some pics on their website, and others have posted pics on here. I do notice there seems to be a lack of pictures showing it from the back with the tailgate closed though to see how it looks without a lip coming down the face of the tailgate, like the stock one does.

Ours doesn't come down the backside of the tailgate.

I know, that's what I'm referring to. Not many pics showing how that looks compared to a stock setup that does have the lip.

Sorry - didn't mean to cause waves - just debating between yours and another

My stock plastic one decided to give up, and a couple of clips have broken, and the slight wave created breaks my OCD...lol

Thinking about ordering one. Does it come with hardware? Or do you have to get the upgraded hardware?

You can use the stock hardware or opt to upgrade to our steel hardware.

If my tailgate is slightly bent outward, do you believe the reinforcement piece will still fit?
