Does anyony know the weight limit on the tailgate itself. My ATV wheels would rest directly on the gate.
Also are the "D-Ring" tiedowns in the bed extra, or do all trucks come with them installed.
Looking at 2013 TRD Off Road

Dont know the exact weight limit but have had everything from motorcycles and ATVs on mine. I wouldnt worry about it.

All of the 05+ tacomas I have seen come with them in the back of the bed.

What kinda quad is it? There'll be more weight on the tailgate when youre loading it than when its up there. Id imagine its been done millions of times by many. It take more than a quad to damage it. Be careful tho that you measure the width of your quad to be sure it fits between the wheel wells (42 in) My foreman barely squeezed between.

    1) Isn't that pushing the bed capacity?
    2) I'm pretty sure you should check your tailgate :p

With me (195 lbs) and a coworker on it (200 lbs), the tailgate held just fine but I have a reinforced "gator savor" tailgate. Only the toyotanation crew from back in the day will remember the gator savor though.

Won't fit between, would have to go on top of wheel wells. I guess that works?

My old truck, 600lb quad, in and out for 4 years. Could see a permanent bow in the tailgate from carrying the load over abusive roads though. Probably rig some sort of load distribution system in my new truck.
