I am looking for a way to beef up the tailgate. (The inside of the gate).
I was standing on it the other day and the plastic protector sounded like it was going crack in half. Are any of you using a metal protector instead?
If so where did you get it and do they come in black?
    Thanks
    I have a 2011 DC SB

No one has had any issues with the liner on the tailgate?

Do a search here. I know I saw a thread one time about a guy that makes a reinforcer for the tailgate. I'll see if I can find it.

after reading the threads on here about the weak tailgates on our trucks, I am admittedly a little paranoid about putting any weight on mine.

I was just standing on mine to sweep some crap out of the bed. I weigh 285 and it was snapping and sounded like I was going to crack it in pieces. I have found where some one put some diamond stamp on it but I want something smooth and black.
    I will keep looking.
