Lol, yup. If anyone reallythinks mudflaps stop rocks, they are wrong. I've had several windshields damaged in the past by semi trucks throwing rocks at me, and they all had mudflaps. In fact the mudflaps can actualy just make the rocks come out a a lower angle, making them hit people right in the windshield who are travelling farther back rather than tailgaiting the truck. Most pickup trucks around here either don't have mudflaps from the factory or they have taken them off.

no mudflaps and blacked out badges... driving a MGM and i like that you can't really see the emblems until you're up close on the dark paint. :spy: Also i've gone through just about as many windshields as anyone i know on trucks and sedans either from rocks or debris on the road, mudflaps don't do anything it seems... Just my .02

9 months of ownership and I'm still OK with the stock tailgate badging. And I'm good with the mud flaps as well.

but then, neither my truck or myself is as cool as most y'all and your trucks here. And I post this in a non condescending way. More out of jealousy. :D

Anyone have a single "Tacoma" badge they want to send me in exchange for beer money? One of the tundratalk guys is already sending me a 4x4 badge, just need something for the front to finish it off.

oh yeah, and i voted black out badges as you may have guessed.

PM me if you have one please!

^^^ That "4 Wheel Drive" looks amazing. I want it on my first gen.

Probably a stupid question. But is the "TOYOTA" that came on the back of my '95.5 painted on, or is it decals? The previous owner redid the clear coat, but you can barely see the "toyota" on the back. Would rather it be there or gone, not partial.

    Sorry for thread jack.

Edit: I assume the answer to my question is "decals." Sort of just trying to brainstorm how to fix it since it was clear coated over.

I'm assuming its the same as my '97, which is vinyl decal, not paint.

If he really clear-coated over it, then you won't be able to remove anything without removing the clearcoat.

You'll either have to sand it down and re-paint the whole tailgate, or get some new decals and place them directly over the area where the old ones were.

im really a big fan of the retro, but only if you go with the side decals too.
