2010 Prerunner TRD Sport DC

My trucks tailpipe is soot black No smoke of any kind and fuel mileage is 19~20 mpg on 87 octane. So why is it sooted up? My other trucks were not like this, there tailpipes were squeaky clean. Truck has 7300 miles on it. cranks and runs fine except for the crazy transmission shifting.
