I'm not a tough guy. I have a couple windows above my driveway. I'd just open one up a little, take out my trusty non-lethal bb gun and sink some pellets deep into the back of their neck. Let's see if they stick around for that. My garage motion light would make it nearly impossible for them to see the window. So unless they want to lay siege to my house (won't go well for them), they would get their pansy asses out of there.

Of course the best idea would be to live in a freedom loving state where you could just shoot them dead.

Damn, what a nice truck. Sorry to hear it. Hopefully you can get a new one without waiting too long.

A buddy of mine had his, '17 Off road stolen in Ottawa just a few months ago. Same thing. 3am. Right out of the driveway. I laughed when I met up with him last year and he had "The Club" steering wheel lock with him...I guess he knew it was going to happen one day.

the moment they try to enter the house is the moment they lose their right to live. anything before that and killing simply is not necessary.

There are also many thousands of examples of "victims" taking the law into their own hands and finding themselves in a courtroom facing jail time.

Shooting an intruder in your own home is one thing, shooting a car thief in your driveway is another.

There are many inexpensive units, including the GT1000: https://gettracking.net/

$110 upfront for the unit, $24 per year thereafter.

    Oh look, another mod....

People in Texas love their garages also. I know I do. I had to clean everything out of my garage just so my Taco would fit in it, and it does...even with the steel bumper and trailer hitch. If I'm paying for a house I want to be able to park my vehicle in it. I don't understand why people convert them into bonus rooms and such. But if you do, good for ya'. These days, a vehicle isn't safe in the drive way anymore. Plus you have the pesky Karen-like HOA's that want to try bother you about parking in your own driveway.

I have guns/rifles/shotguns, and I've talked tough about "What I would do if so-n-so did this or that to me or my loved ones." But the truth is, I really don't know what I would do until it actually happens, so I'll stop speculating and just pray that it never does. I'll also do everything possible so it doesn't! Like parking in the garage, locking the truck, putting up security cameras and motion lights.

I won't victim blame either. It has made me very grateful that it hasn't happened to me.

You must not watch the Dallas news. Never ever assume a criminals intent.

If someone is on my property, it’s a threat.

    Just getting started.
@CrispyTacoLover is right. Here in Texas, Castle Doctrine extends to your vehicle and entirety of your property, not just your dwelling. But, that still doesn't give you legal cover to just immediately eliminate a potential "threat", nor does it absolve you from any legal ramifications if a DA wants to pursue charges.

I don't care where you live, attempted car theft isn't grounds for execution.

Why threads like this always evolve to shooting other human beings is fucking beyond me. Yeah having your shit stolen sucks, insinuating taking a human life for it is just gross.

Easy there partner, I don’t think anyone is insinuating “execution,” there are simply those that have the stones to confront those which mean them harm and those that don’t. Whatever happens at that point is in the wind and most likely not in favor of the individual up to no-good.

Uh huh, partner. Maybe I misconstrued the posts of "creating new assholes with a shotgun" and burying bodies. :rofl:I get it, that's mostly just keyboard toughguy talk but the sad fact is some people put more value in material objects than they do human life. And that goes for both criminals and those "protecting" their property.

Anyway, like I mentioned in a previous post, there are thousands of cases of people taking the law into their own hands over property crime and finding themselves in deep doo doo. Obviously not "Everyone" who says they'll confront a thief is insinuating execution but when a firearm is involved its REALLY easy to escalate there.

Yup. It sucks but not grounds to kill someone. Def would be going to court and possibly a lot of jail time.
That's not what was said. Killing someone is different than confronting for this particular crime.

Depends where you live. In Texas it happens all the time, and that's a good thing. In California if someone breaks into your home you can't kill them
