I love my WYZE cameras too. The WYZE V3 is a big improvement over previous versions.

I'd be happy to serve them the Lubyanka Breakfast, if apprehended.

Sorry to see this. At this point you might be better off if they don't recover it. My father owned and auto salvage and he always told me that recovered stolen cars and trucks were dicey. Back then a lot of thefts were "joy rides" and you never knew if the engine or transmission were damaged.

In your case, it's likely that it was either stripped or sent out of the country for resale.

Hope you insurance company does well by you.

If you have a two car garage and three vehicles ones gonna be outside, same if you’re using one side for storage with two vehicles. Tell you what let’s all park where we want or need and I won’t tell you where to park it… though I am damn well tempted. :D

I park in my garage mostly for cosmetic reasons (Sun and hail). If someone wants my truck that bad, have at it. For 500.00 I will be getting a different one rather quickly.

Not everyone has a garage that can actually fit a truck. For a full size..even worse.

This was not your fault at all OP. Saying anything else is just wrong. It’s like blaming your girlfriend after being attacked for walking on the sidewalk when she could have just walked circles in the garage.

    Oh look, another mod....
Update to my experiment that I tried yesterday:

I tried again this morning, in the parking lot at my work. I hopped in the back seat again, and set the alarm (I always press the lock button twice, I think that's the secret to setting the alarm? If I press the lock button once, the doors lock, if I press it a second time, I hear a "beep beep" and I see lights flash). A light lit up in the center console, on the passenger side near their air vent. It showed an amber/red lock button. It lit up solid. I waited 30 more seconds and it start flashing slowly. I think that means it was "set".

Then I unlocked the back door manually, and the alarm went off. Lights flashed, the horn beeped over and over. So it does work.

Maybe. But cars have been stolen for about as long as they’ve been in existence, long before the existence of smart keys and push-to-start. If someone wants your car, they can find a way to steal it.

This seems to be a regular occurrence for Canada . Where are the poe poe ,
Royal Canadian Mount Police ? Are they even trying to prevent the thefts & shipping of stolen goods thru the ports ?

That's actually a good idea. Another thing to add to the list!

I am definitely on the same page as you. The financial loss is terrible, as the insurance most likely will fight me on covering my modifications, but I don't want it back for the feeling of violation alone.

Unfortunately in Canada we can be charged with assault for beating someone who enters our home without consent. In a way I am happy that I did not catch them in the act because I know that I would have not been able to stop myself.

I wouldn't even bother responding to his nonsense. I do have a garage, one that my truck did not fit in as you can see in the picture I posted with the garage door sitting on my tri fold. I never blamed Toyota's security for the theft of my vehicle. I do however believe their system could be improved along with Honda as they are both vulnerable to theft. If you, " @auskip07 ," would like to disagree with the SPVM (Montreal police) and my insurance who have relayed this message, I will gladly provide you some phone numbers in private message so you can entertain your thoughts elsewhere.

As for everyone else, I really appreciate your sympathy towards the situation, and I hope in a way this thread will push you to properly protect your truck within your means.

I don't disagree. But I still think the physical column lock poses more challenges than cloning or reprogramming a key fob.
