I'm down. i would this weekend after the hungry valley thing if u want. i might skip hungry valley this time, been there a lot now. . .

let me know, i could lead a SMALL group on some 2x4 able trails oft of lockwood valley road. its prob 20 min from the north side of hungry valley. i say small group because the trails are very narrow with not many spots to turn around.

also i heard there is a "moderate" difficulty trail neat lockwood valley road that goes to cherry creek campground. anyone heard of this?

dunno - i went camping up off of lockwood last weekend and I called the forest service beforehand. I asked them which campgrounds were open, etc...and I asked if cherry creek was quick to get to (I was arriving like 11pm). He said that it would be a bad idea to try the trail for the first time in the dark and that it was a "moderate difficulity" 4x4 trail (which means nothing since everyone has their own opinion on what is hard).

    heres where it is...

I only got time for the Hungry Valley run this weekend. I got A LOT of studying to do for finals next week. I am definitely down to go sometime after next week. How narrow are these trails?(remember I have a doublecab longbed with shitty turning radius:eek:)

turning isnt a problem... but turning around would be tough in most areas. I actually came across two forest rangers going the other way, and it was a TIGHT squeeze with mirrors pulled in to slip by them. there are lots of other trails though, i've only explored a few.

The ones that I explored would be fine for a 4x2 unless its wet, then I think you would be needing assistance.

yeah, i know where that is at. i've been shooting back there a few times but usually the gate is closed after 1/3 mile so i've never driven farther back. there are some cool places and fun stuff to do back in lockwood. it's very isolated.

i envy you guys for having all those trails. i live in georgia where there are hardly any 2wd trail its all swamp and mud bogging. Did have a trail up the street that my runner could do all of just crawling but they started to build something there and closed the trail. hopefully my buddy will show me this other trail. he said it more but im not to worried just installed and winch and push bar on my runner. where do you guys live?
