Hmm...maybe. The only way to find out is to peel em off. The good news is if there is shadowing you'll have an outline for where to place the new ones. :D

Gotcha. And if there is shadowing.. any way of fixing this other than covering it back up again?

Maybe clay bar it, use some buffing polish, then wax it. I see your truck is silver, since it's a lighter color, I feel like it'll probably be okay. But I'm definitely not an expert.

Mine's been de-badged completely. Kind of wish I had the V6 though. Wouldn't want anyone thinking it's a four-banger. Not that there's anything wrong with that. :anonymous::D

I think you will have a minor shadow that won’t go away. I would still do it though.

My second gen that I drove for 14 years, had dirt stains in between the lettering of the badges.
Unless you want to detail around those every time you wash, take em off.
My 2022 Sport only lasted 3 days before I took all that crap off.

Might have a subtle shadowing depending on sun exposure etc but as mentioned probably won’t be very noticeable. There’s always other options if for some reason it doesn’t turn out like want.

I took mine off after 2 years of sun. No shadow. White paint.

The TRD sticker on my Sport is one of the reasons I like it. (The Silver Letters look the best on Midnight Black)

I'm not against owner's taking them off.

It just looks so OEM to me that I wanna keep it! lol

I'm having a dig at those who are purist and want to keep their Tacoma OEM.

Most of my add-ons are OEM. The important parts (LED Headlights) were purchased after-the-fact.

But the grill and side steps are aftermarket...as are the Fendys and Talon CAT plate.

I can tell you I went through the same feelings.
    Still glad I did it.

Since I didn't really see anyone respond to your question, I am under the impression that all 3rd gen tacomas regardless of double cab or access cab, have rear head rests that fold down to give basically an unobstructed view. The rear headrest should be adjustable. There should be two tabs that you press in to raise the head rest up. If you raise them all the way up, they will fold over towards the front , giving you unobstructed or 90% unobstructed views out the rear window. If you still need more room, or just want to take them out, just hold the same two tabs you used to raise it up, and pull the head rest straight up and out of the rear seat. Its very easy, and takes like 5-10 seconds. You can also press one tab at a time while using your other hand to lift up on the headrest. I have a double cab, and this is supposedly how all the 3rd gens are, well at least the double cabs, but I can't see the access cab being any different. You can always call the dealer or use youtube if it is not the same.

Took mine off the bedsides with 14 miles on the odometer. They came right off.

Parked in the hot sun for a few hours and they peeled right off. Used some 3M adhesive remover on a microfiber to remove any resudue, a little wax and bam like the cheap looking things were never there!

Smith & Nephew Uni-Solve Adhesive Remover is another good option to remove sticky residue. Safer than goo gone; it’s marketed to remove bandage residue and similar from skin.

I took off the shiny ones that Toyota decided to add, noticed the drop in horsepower so I went with black. Now I have a Sleeper.:mudding:
