I've done a lot of debating and I've decided....the lift kit and tires have to go ;( between the driving I have to do back and forth to school and the driving for work, paying for the gas when it's $3.50 a gallon on a college student's income just aint worth it anymore. So with that being said I have a few questions.

    1) I have a OME matching springs and struts up front, can I use the OME struts with my old stock coils?
    2) If I can't use the OME struts what would be some decent, relatively inexpensive struts to use?
    3) I have a 1.5" body lift, are there any adjustable coils or small spacers that could do a .5" so i could sit at an even 2"?

    Thanks for the help

Sorry to hear you have to shrink the Taco. How many miles on the OME strut assemblies?

Well, the springs have been on there slightly longer than the struts have but they probably have about 50k on them give or take? I'm not positive to be honest. they still ride well though.

I'm located in South GA. Maybe we could work out some sorta swap?

I am about to get some blstn 5100's, so I will have the trd yellow blstn's available if you are interested. I personally would not combine the stock shocks with the OME 885's. I called OME's tech support on this a few months ago because I wanted to do that to get some lift, but they said that it will destroy those shocks because they are not made for that kind of stress. If you do end up buying strut springs because you are unable to find any, go with Moog, they the best oem replacement spring. I would be 100% down for a swap, but it would mean downtime for one of our vehicles, and I can't have downtime because it's my daily driver. If you are able to have down time, then we can work something out. I would be willing to swap my 4 trd shocks, 2 strut springs, and 2 pre load strut spacers for your OME strut springs. Now the complicated part of this would be the logistics of the actual swap. If you think we can make it work, let's see what we can do.

if aligned right lift wont hurt your MPG just tires.. you could always just go to a less meaty tire and smaller size.

Any lift will change the aerodynamics of the truck and affect performance in some way. It may not be immediately noticeable, but it happens. Tires have the greatest affect on performance between the two, lifted or not.

This. I ran just a lift (1.75") with stock tires for a couple weeks and noticed zero change in MPG. Adding Hankook ATM P265/75R16 tires (note the P!) hasn't noticeably affected it either, and possibly improved it on the highway. Swap to a less aggressive, lighter A/T tire and keep the lift IMO.

I combined the stock struts with the OME coils, mine are the 883 or either the 882, they worked for a while till a deer took the front end of my truck out and the strut busted. I still have my stock strut springs. They would have some sag to them of course but I would be able to live with it. I may be able to work out some sort of swap but the only thing is would your strut assembly fit my truck because it looks like you have a 2nd generation truck?

I'm in Baxley. Near Waycross and Vidalia if that helps any.

Everything is aligned right, I had that checked. I would go to a smaller tire size but anything less than what I have now,305/70/16, just won't look as good to me with the lift I already have

    It's a '99
