    Yup I came from the north to Wiseman's view on it. I really wish I got to spend more time there. I had planned to camp there on day 2 but the weather pushed my 4 day trip to 3 days and ended up camping south of linville aqueduct.

    Almost forgot..... someone was nice enough to cut 12 inch thick 3 foot long logs for me and leave them at the campsite...... I made the best of it! Usually I wouldn't make a fire this big but I knew rain was coming!

    I'm proud of myself did around 12 miles of 4000 foot plus elevation trails with 1000 foot elevation changes. I need to do spy rock and devils bathtub to knock them off my bucket list!

    Damn Rob that looks like a great trip. It's been decades since I've been to Grandfather Mtn and the viaduct. I really need to take the kiddo. I remember that bridge across Grandfather Mtn being a little more sketchy than what it looks like in your pictures.
    Yeah here is a pic of the original bridge. Apparently according to this article it was rebuilt in the late 90s I haven't been there since I was like 10. This article also lets you in on a secret about why you get charged.

    Yup I was reading about that while I was there. They said they old bridge swung a lot more. I actually didn't go all the way across I got to the middle and the wind picked up. That bridge started swinging and that's all I need to make a U turn:anonymous:
