    OP really said "the trans has been slipping for a while (normal for a Taco I understand)"

    It's not normal for any transmission on a Tacoma to be slipping bro....

    A lot of people here (myself included) hate car payments but the Tacoma is special in the way it holds its value better than nearly every other vehicle, almost like a rolling savings account. You can buy a brand new Tacoma and drive it for 3 years and resell it for a loss of only ~$2-$3k if even that.
