    Choice A: Haul motherfuckers around

Choice B: Don't haul motherfuckers around

    I would choose B = access cab

Double Cab FTW  I was in the same dilemma when I first was going to buy my truck. IMO I thought that the double cab looked better.. you guys are right I do get asked to drive and give people rides.. haha but I just say no lol ;)

Access Cab: Looks better, can have the full-size bed without the truck practically being the length of a school bus.

Double Cab: Obviously has practical back seats over what the AC has.

I guess more people on here live in cities but where I live a DCLB is still a tiny truck compared to everyone's tundras with 8 foot beds, F350s, enormous Dodge Rams, etc. to most people out here, a Tacoma is basically the truck version of a Subaru.

The taco, even in limo form, is still tiny.

If I didn't have kids, I would have gone with a ACLB, I think that's by far the nicest looking taco. But with kids and wanting to use the taco for family camping trips, the AC is just not practical in any way shape or form. It didn't even fit the infant car seat we have with the front seat being usable by anyover 5'3. Plus, I use my truck as my everyday vehicle and love home improvement projects, so the short bed was not practical. While I would have preferred MT, the DCLB was the easy answer for my situation.

Thankfully Toyota gives us some options to find a taco for most every need.

Correct. Used my truck to pick up my dad from the airport with my mom and sister as passengers. As long as the front seats occupants are courteous by not rolling back or reclining too much then there is enough comfort for all passengers.

Oh no doubt. I would never want to sit in the back seat of the AC, and if I had people that needed to do so regularly, I would have gotten the DC also.

For me, though, it's usually just me and sometimes one other person that needs to ride in it, so the better looks of the AC (not to mention the cost savings at purchase) make it a no-brainer.

My other car is a two seater so it made sense for me to get a db. But I really do like the way the AC looks. Luckily, I was coming from a juke, so a 5ft bed is huge for me.

In my case, no kids but lots of toys to haul. So easy decision. I can still haul people in a pinch where they need a ride. I do enjoy the tall people in the back bitching but I remind them I bought the truck so I was comfortable not my free loading passengers lol. Seriously, an AC isn't horrible but I wouldn't force them to ride around on a long trip in the back.

It's the time I am loading something up and won't think I wish I had the long box when it's just me standing there.

My reason for getting the ac is bc of the 4cyl 5 speed combo.... if I was wanting a 6 cyl I would have got 6 speed short bed I don't like auto though

I rarely if ever need to haul more than 1 other person. My first truck was reg cab and my 2002 Taco is extended. So an access for my 2017 was a no brainer. I need the long bed. The 4 door long bed is just too long. Having suicide doors is a whole new world to me!

So far I love it.. really like the 6 speed manual.

Personally the suicide doors are no issue. I have owned several F150 extended cabs so my family knows the routine regarding closing the doors. We have never shut the wrong doors first causing a problem.

I just sold my 2013 Access cab with a Sungtop Super Sport and was considering a 4 door as I have been driving access cabs for 13 years now, thought maybe change it up, but after reading this thread - FUCK THAT...

Most of the surfing community here in Hawaii has dclb's with trackrax or Thule's, the shell is the shit for camping and keeping shit dry...This time around - Magnetic Gray Access cab and new matching Snugtop,
    black rims , 3' lift

    2013 -
    3" lift, Dirt Logic 2.5's, 285/70/17

You could always be like me and pretend you have an access cab when you really have a double cab... removed the seats after realizing how pointless they are for my purposes. I would have gone with an AC but finding a manual off road was hard enough in the first place...
