    That's a great observation.
I had DC before and I know exactly what it means.

OP should get what he NEEDs not what he wants.

I have AC to carry motorcycle int the back and the long bed is a MUST for me.
DC with long bed doesn't fit in my garage, and the handling would be like boat or school bus.
And I have no one to sit in the back.
And I have 2 other cars to carry passengers more comfortably.
And AC looks MORE like a truck than DC which looks like a chopped SUV in 1/2.
It was an easy decision for me.

    Chopped SUV. I agree.
Look at this nonsense back when double cabs were actually starting to become common-

The 2nd gen and 3rd pull it off way better. This though??

It's easy to fuck mad bitches in the back of a double cab. Harder to do in an access cab. Unless you have a sunroof and can intake the shifter.

"Hey sweetheart how bout we take this to the bed al fresco style"

Besides no ones gotten laid in a double cab since Vietnam. People with access cabs wake up with strangers and can't find their underwear. People with double cabs make sack lunches for anarchist tweenerz.:luvya:

It's hard to fuck mad bitches and wrestle bears. Sometimes you get confused and fuck mad bears while trying to wrestle bitches.

Then you gotta pull out, fuck up the bear, slap the tickler until it's happy again and then get back in there. There's a lot to it.

My first Tacoma was an Access cab. It was OK when I was in college and early 20s. It was not OK once I got older and actually had to use it for work, to take people places, etc. I always wished in hindsight I had bought the 4 door but the access cab was much cheaper at the time.

If you are single and have no other responsibilities and never need to put more gear or people inside the cab of the truck, get the access cab. Otherwise I'd buy the double cab, especially if you plan to keep the truck down the road.

It's not a 3rd gen, but in terms of proportions, looks and capability... it's my favorite cab. Yes I am slightly biased, I do like the way the 3rd gens look with a full cab though. I just personally wouldn't ever get one unless I had one family vehicle and had to trade in the AC, for when I have kids etc. sounds like you have some cars though for that. Stick with the access cab..

I put insane amounts of gear in my ride. I could stage a coup in Ecuador with this Tacoma. Plus I plan on keeping all my tacomas down the road. Door quantity is irrelevant. It's all about the individual. You don't have kids right? And you're a bird hunter? How many dogs do you have bro do you even need those other two doors

How do you carry a snowmobile in the bed of the double cab? It's hard enough with the Access Cab.

I have both an Access cab and a DCSB. Both are great, depending on what you are going to use them for. If you don't have passengers very often, and haul stuff in the bed frequently, then the access cab is the way to go. If you have passengers from time to time and don't use the bed very often, you can probably get by with the short bed double cab. I love both configurations, just gotta figure out what you will be using it most for. FWIW, my dcsb has a bed extender that came with the truck and I have found it to be quite useful. if you do end up wanting a double cab but need a little extra bed room occaisionally, I highly recommend this as an alternative

Double cabs are the minivans of the Tacoma World. Get an Access cab -- just enough room for you, your woman and your dog, plus a real man's full bed out back.
