I'm in the process of selling all my mods off my 2015 TRD Sport. Truck has 12000 miles on it. I have always loved the Tacoma's but decided I no longer need a truck. I made the move and ordered a 2018 TRD pro forerunner. Any far as the audio system yes I agree. I have a awesome one I will be removing from my Tacoma and selling. Good luck on your decision.

    1) What do you think you have to do, and how do you feel about doing what you think you have to do?

    2) What are your feelings on doing exactly the opposite to what you think is the right thing to do?

Emotion is what mustly drives human decisions, there after we look for reasons to justify our emotions decision making.

From one older guy (50), to another, sell it while you can still get nearly all your money back on it. My dealership hounds me constantly to buy mine back. Sell it and buy yourself something you can foresee yourself driving in a handful of years. Maybe that's an older solid axle truck, maybe it isn't. But if it is, you can park it in the garage and tinker on it on the weekends and have it ready to go when you do retire. Maybe it's a sports car.. only you really know what you want to do. But it sounds like you have your mind made up and there isn't anything wrong with that. No sense sitting on a truck that you're not happy with.

TW made me crazy. I was perfectly happy with my 5 lug. This place made me realize the potential. Also now there is a 2012 OR with 30k for sale close to here for 26,000. Same color as mine so I could keep my Leer cap. Just thinking 4wd would be nice on the Long Island beaches. I could probably make the switch for $5k. tempting. Like I said TW is definitely not good for my mind.

edit. The 2012 OR has Toyota leather interior.

personally, i think the 3rd gen tacomas are fuckugly, and they lack performance. i drove a bunch of em, and honestly the only ones that are remotely close to be fun to drive are the manual trans.

Why not just buy a first gen that somebody has already modded with a solid axle and all the goodies?

Sell it. Simplify your life and save some money, too. (no more registration, insurance, etc). Or use the money for things you enjoy doing. Travel. Do nice things for your wife. You can always buy another truck down the road if you need one. Or rent one on the rare occasions that call for a truck. Either way you'll come out far ahead. People get so hung up on their possessions that the stuff ends up owning them.

I'll have to admit I have, in moments of weakness, perused parts and considered doing that. The issues that crop up afterwards keeps me from doing it. [ front diff vibration, carrier bearings, excessive CV wear, squeaks and rattles, etc]

I LIKE the Taco but I don't know if I like it enough to keep and use sparingly for the next few years. The downside to that is I am an anal retentive person in keeping a vehicle nice and am usually extremely disappointed at someone else ''excellent condition'' judgement when looking at used vehicles.

    Squeaks and rattles...
I have these after lift and they drive me crazy because I really enjoy driving with the windows open. The squeaking is one of the reasons I am considering trading up to a different truck.

If you're not using it, sell it. It is just one extra thing and expense(reg, insurance, maintenance, depreciation) to keep up with.

For the few times that you NEED a truck, you can rent one from uhaul, a car rental place, or your local big box home improvement store.

Keep it. Mood it. Change any aspect of your truck that you don't like. Drive it once per week and you should be fine. I understand your situation. I've been there .Your problem it's not money related... so keep it!

You have one of the lowest mileage '15 TRD DCSB. They aren't making anymore. If it's paid for you will regret selling it. Taxes and insurance are minor and will decrease over time. Ten years from now, if it has 20,000 miles be proud and show it off. Finds ways to enjoy it more now. We can all probably recall cars and trucks that we sold that we wish we had not. One of those for me was a bought new 1995 Tacoma that I sold to get a bigger farm truck. That one would have made a great gift for my son. I have a few others that comes to mind and I ask myself "why did I sell that one?" Think this over carefully and wait if you aren't sure of your decision.

If you're going to keep it you need to drive it at least once a month to keep everything lubricated and working, simply cranking it up isn't enough.
