Here's my first love. Bought it new in 1992. Didn't deal with the rust when I should have. Traded it in as part of my wife's new Ridgeline, which I shouldn't have (the trade in part! Rigdeline's been her baby). I have a line on something in the same generation, extended cab, V6 auto, DX like this is (no power windows). It's in great shape. Price will probably be more than I'm willing to pay. But here's the question. Buy it, and sell my 2019 Tacoma TRD Sport with 20K, or just accept the fact that I can't go back? Having both is not an option, and having the DX does not compromise any travel requirements, as I'm the only one who regularly rides in my Tacoma (as I have a work car, sometimes it sits for a week). Oh, and the DX has 130+K. Thoughts?

That would depend largely on price. Personally, I’d keep the 2019.

Welcome. You know you want a 1st gen/Toyota pickup. I’m not talking you out of anything. It’s amazing.

Try to work out keeping both. My '18 TRD Sport would have to go if I had to choose between the two. But I REALLY LIKE my '18.

It is actually 6th gen YOTA. I have owned a 92 and 93. Wish I still had either one. 22re was the deal.

less money with insurance, no monthly financing or lease if u can afford it, less electronics to fuck up on u. But also less comfort items. Me personally, I'm and old truck guy and would build up an old Tacoma/buy a built old Tacoma over a new stock one any day.

Like it's been said, all up to u in the end. We aren't driving it

None of you is married to my wife, either! I get the comfort thing. I really do. Before I bought the '19, I had picked up a '94. Had some engine issues that could have been overcome. Driver seat apolstery had some issues that were going to require non-OEM fabric or seat covers. Had a few decades of odor to it. No XM radio, which I love. No climate control, which I really love. Rust on one side that was going to require a new bedside, but I was willing to put some money in it over time. Was in the hardware store for 13 minutes. Came out and someone had caved in the clean bedside and taken off. Entire bed ruined. Sold it and bought the Tacoma. Have to admit, however, that despite it's imperfections, I looked forward to driving it each time. Just made me feel good. Now I have to weigh that against the reaction of someone who has the capability of making me feel really bad!

I think you made the right choice. You mentioned you already had a work vehicle and sometimes the truck sits. Drive what makes you happy. Don’t have any regrets anymore! I love my 19 Pro but I also have another car to drive on weekends and slow traffic days. It takes me fast in the turns and its a manual. A completely different beast which I use as my mental therapy!

Hope so. I like my 19 Sport and it's amenities, but I don't love it. Nothing against the vehicle, I've really enjoyed driving only two vehicles in my life- my 92 DX and oddly enough, an 09 Ford Taurus which I sold to my brother.

Old beaters are the best. No cares about trail rash or door dings.

Although replacing parts every month does get a bit old. My 99 Ranger was definitely awesome but man was I tired of putting in random small stuff every month. Sometimes every weekend.

I had some real beaters in college.
I only drive 'new' cars now. I've had my share of being broken down on the side of the road :)
