Meh... 5 foot bed, 9 foot quartz countertop. Worked perfectly and I can still park it in the garage.

Access cab long bed. Same wheelbase as DCSB but you get the 6' bed. If you're buying a vehicle for the back seat you're doing it wrong.

I have said this before with these type of questions. Think of the pros and cons. Write out what you want the truck to do for you. Obviously it will be tight in the garage as you already stated and you have a trailer if needed. Also, you said you want to get the truck for driving and 4x4 so it seems like the short bed is the answer?

Here is some other questions for you... Are you stuck to a double cab? Are you driving in a city a good amount? Do you park often on city streets? If you answered yes to most, if not all, then the short bed is probably the answer.

Do you planning on using the bed for camping? Will you add a tool box? Maybe you have a good amount of stuff that you want to haul for your trips with the family for a long weekend and you dont want bring the trailer? If any of these apply then the long bed may be the way to go.

In the end, you don't want to make a mistake or regret that costs you thousands when you end up wanting to trade it in.

If you get a bed extender that fits in the tow hitch you can haul items longer than 10 feet.

Yeah I kinda wish I got an ACLB. I've only had people in the back seat like 10 times in 4 years and I think it'd be fun to build out a camper in the back. I've slept in the bed under my tonneau with my legs hangin out on the tailgate, works fine when the weather is good but it'd be nice to have a better camping set up.

I just traded my sb for a long, just because I needed to haul a little more than the short holds. Haven’t done any backcountry travel in the new LB yet but pretty sure it’s going to be a little worse than the SB. Go short if it holds enough stuff for what you do.

All you need to do is park beside a full size and you'll see how small our trucks are, whether its 6 foot or 5 foot box.
My buddies 3500 GMC 1 ton can put a tacoma in the bed and he still won't be over the max payload weight wise.

    Stawk as FUCK!
If a 5’ bed is long enough for you, then why not get a 4Runner? Same capacity with the rear seats down?

I could be mistaken, but just a consideration here. Canada does not offer TRD Off-Road with the long box. We only have the short box configuration with the OR. If you're looking at getting the long box you'll have to go for one of the other trims.

I have a DCLB TRD Sport and I feel that I 100% made the right choice. I didn't figure I needed the crawl control and Bilstein suspension for the occasional 4x4 trip that I do. I don't ever do anything so extreme that the TRD Sport can't tackle it - plus I've definitely used the extra space in the bed for moving furniture and transporting my motorbike.

I’ve had short bed Tacomas for 10 years and have always been able to fit whatever I need.

The extra 1’ would be more of a pain to drive around and park than it would be worth for me.

I really don't understand why Toyota doesn't offer all the same configurations that they make between Canada and US. makes no sense to me.

No offense to anyone but Tacoma looks a little weird in long bed config. Too skinny, too low, too long, IMO.

I play music(drums) and the short box is just too small to haul my equipment. Another plus on the longbed is I can camp in it if I like. I hear folks saying the longbed is too hard to park, to hard to get around in, etc. If that 1 foot extra length is stressing you out driving, well, let's just leave that there, lol. I have owned both. I have never had with my long bed the thought, 'damn I wish I'd have bought the shortbed. I have had the 'I wish I'd bought the longbed' thought before when I owned a shortbed. And yes, the longbed does give a better ride. That's just a fact. Best advice is get what makes you happy and best fits your needs. That garage space is an issue. Ya wanna it to fit so there probably lies your answer.
