I had a DCSB for 12 years. It was great for wheeling adventures and easier to park. Traded it last year on a DCLB because my usage and priorities have changed. Love them both. Yes, the long bed rides better but it's not exactly apples to apples as I had a custom suspension on the "06.

I debated, and drove both before deciding I'd be happier overall with the SB. In the 3 years I've owned it there have been maybe 3 days the LB would have been nice. The remaining 1092 days I've been quite happy with the SB, but then I don't haul long things very often. If I had needed a long bed, I'd have likely just bought a Tundra :crapstorm:

LB looks odd AF on such a small truck. Like the people that put 33's and run 6'' lifts. Looks weird to me

Short bed if you want it as a car/off-ing vehicle, really?

Short bed is just fine to get the job done, its only a foot difference. I use my short bed all the time to haul shit, never lets me down.

For me the Access cab works best, allows for a crossbed tool box, and everyone can use the extra space the six foot gives.

If you have to ask, get a ridgeline. It comes with a cooler in the back.

    Like, so many.
I wanted to do more off roading, so short bed was what I wanted. I haul lots of stuff and it's never been an issue. I know it's personal preference, bit I like the proportions of the short bed better. Access cab, long bed it probably the best if you don't need a full back seat.

I would have preferred the 6' bed also, but much like you it wouldn't fit in my garage with DC and 6' box. However this is my 4th TRD sport in a row and I've made due with the shorter box. If I need to haul something 10, 12' or longer I use one of my trailers. Good luck

I prefer the ACLB look over the DCSB but the DCLB makes zero sense to me. Why buy a full-size length pickup on a mid-size frame?

I don't buy the "truck stuff" argument on a truck with a 1150lb payload that requires you to float a full sheet above the wheel wells. If you actually haul stuff frequently, just buy a damn F-150 or get a trailer. The supercab 6.5' box is only about 6 inches longer in wheelbase and total length and is better in every capacity for truck stuff at a very similar price if you shop deals and get the discount financing.

Just because they sell those silly contraptions doesn't mean it's a good idea.

If you don’t use the bed often I would vote short bed, especially since you have access to a trailer.

A small utility trailer solves all short box issues and lets you enjoy a shorter truck.

Camping in the back is the only drawback I see.

Short bed. Long bed always look like a work truck to me personally. But you can’t go wrong with a taco regardless of what bed it’s is

I wanted a long bed going into it, but ended up with a short bed. A long bed would be nice to put a shell on and sleep in, have a cover folded in thirds and still fit bikes in the back, and easier fit for kayaks. The DCLB had too much wheel base for me though and I'm really liking the back seat for the couple times a month someone sits back there. An ACLB would have worked, but putting a roof rack and bed bars on a DCSB will do everything I want, (with the exception of sleeping in the bed with my gf, but a rtt will be fine if i really need to)

I have a short bed. The width of the bed has seemed to be more of the limiting factor than length because I can always drop the tailgate and use some rachet straps

    if you want/need a 6’ bed, get a full-size.

ive had a short bed 2nd gen and 3rd gen and used to buy and sell furniture there was never a time a 6 ft bed was necessary. It would've made my life easier sometimes but never needed. I think short bed looks better and is more practical off road.

Get the Short box. For the odd last minute Home Depot run for some awkward item, consider one of these. I've used the hitch one with success.
