I carry an extra 10 gallons of fuel in NATO/Wavian cans when I'm heading out to places that either won't have premium fuel or I'm concerned about distance between fuel stops. Towing my trailer offroad I get about 10 mpg in 4hi. I've been in situations more than once when towing that I would have had to alter my route if not for the extra fuel.

Use the money you save buying a couple of wavians instead of a larger gas tank on a road trip.

It's time to get a RV then or maybe get yourself an old Prevost Coach with a detroit diesel and 200 gallon tank. You are trying to do way too much with a short bed Tacoma.

Haha, I wish. The old lady would love an RV but I don't have the extra funds laying around to pull that for her. I was being a bit facetious with the LRA, Aux Fuel cell and towing a fuel trailer. I already have the LRA 34 gallon tank and I love it, would buy again. Been driving with the LRA tank for a little over 5 years with a majority of its life spent daily driving but those off road trips I've taken with the tank vrs the stock tank, hands down more convenient. Am I going to get the aux fuel cell? Highly doubt it. Fuel trailer? Absolutely not. To me, the LRA was worth it just solely by its convenience. Before I had the tank while daily driving, I was having to stop twice a week to fuel up. 42ish miles per day just commuting back and forth to work in stop and go traffic. After installing the tank, I can barely squeeze out 2 weeks between pit stops. That alone was worth it. Putting 60ish hrs a week and having to spend another 20 minutes at a gas station every time I had to fill up, it was eating into my precious time. The LRA tank takes about 5 minutes longer to fill up vrs the stock tank but it was giving me back the additional time away from home by cutting down a lot of pit stops. Gas mileage isn't great with all the extras I've added to the truck so getting back that feeling of biweekly fuel ups when I first bought the truck feels nice. Bottom line, the LRA gives me back my time for my daily driver that I can spend with my family. That's at least how I see it, it's not for everybody though.
