Go for it and in four years you can rejoin, when you buy a taco and ditch that pos, we will all be here.. still driving the same taco.

Make sure you park properly at Walgreens when you are buying your depends... and old spice...I think the canyon comes with one of those handy capable stickers... you'll need it...

Still here even though the trolls are trying their best to degrade my manhood for researching vehicles before I buy and not blindly buying a Tacoma or whatever I choose.

ARE cap, wade inchannel vent visors, weathertec floor mats, ranch hand grill guard, tuffy security boxes in bed, lockable tailgate handle. Still have stuff that needs to be installed and still have stuff ordered lol.
I have a 2015 tacoma and for work i drive a 2019 colorado and during the winter i put a plow on the colorado. The colorado drives and feels like a car to me and rear springs dont hold much weight in the bed. Also theres always something with gmc and chevy lately. Always recalls and problems from what i have noticed from all the chevys the company buys for us to drive. But nowadays its a crap shot between chevys gmcs and tacomas from what i read on this website about the Tacomas. But i have to admit it seems i get better gas milage with colorado and feels like more power when i hit the gas compared to my tacoma.also with the colorado if it sits for days when you start it and put it into gear and press the gas it takes able bit before it moves kinda like the brakes are locked

Thanks. This will be my daily driver so That’s why things like Bose and a nice interior interest me. If I JUST needed an off-road vehicle it would be the Tacoma hands down. It might just be the JBL speakers holding me back...

True but kinda pissed that you get better stock speakers with the competition. Leaning towards getting the TRD off-road at the moment.

Buy for what you do 90% of your mileage/saddle time with.

And define 'offroad' for you. If its pretty light duty stuff a Ridgeline could be a perfect choice for you.

Just my opinion, so take it for that.

I had a 2008 Tahoe. I loved that thing... until 32,000 miles the rack and pinion went up. GM replaced it on their time, ok cool. 40k-ish the AC started leaking. Took 3 months for the GM dealership to 1, find the leak (for a while they kept telling me the A/C was cold and working as normal) and 2, get them to fix it. That's 3 months of Summer-hot, sticky weather with no A/C. At close to 70,000 miles, the trans started going up.

I will never own another GM product... period!

I won't tell you to buy a Tacoma, but if your hold up is the stereo you need to do some deep reading. Swapping the speakers in this thing is stupid easy. I've had my 2019 TRD sport now for less than 4 weeks. I've already put 1600 miles on it (yeah, I drive). The stock, non JBL stereo leaves much to be desired and for the cost of $300 I have rectified the issue (new speakers). Coming from someone who loves his music and drives over 80 miles a day, don't let the speakers hold you back from buying a reputable truck.

I was a Chevy guy for many years. I just got tired of trading in the Chevy for a new Chevy and the dealer(s) telling me they didn't want my trade as they have too many of them already or some other excuse. But wait, why should I buy another one?

I switched to Toyota and now on trades I'm actually welcomed in with open arms! Post it as a private sale and you'll have'm fighting for it. Getting ready to trade my 2017 TRD for a 2020 TRD if the plow mount fits and sensors can be temporarily disabled.

I trade up every few years so YMMV. Those that keep them for longer go for the reliability of the Toyota.

Like those have said, it's your money. Do your research and pick the one that fits best for YOU. I'm sure you'll be happy with your choice. ;o)

Resale value is so much better on a Tacoma. I totaled my 2015 Tacoma about 6 weeks ago. I paid just under $34k new in Nov. 2014. 4 1/2 years and 83k miles later, the insurance company gave me over $27k for it. If I had bought a Colorado in 2015, I would've gotten at least $10k less. I think that the GM midsized pickup is great but I really don't like the looks that much and they are a little lacking on options. GMs auto locking differential is top notch plus they have auto 4WD. However, resale value....I drove a Ranger and the Ecoboost 4 banger is awesome. Tons more power than a Tacoma and comparable looks and options. Ride quality is also really good. I really considered it. However, I couldn't throw the resale value aspect out the window. Last weekend, I bought a 2019 TRD Offroad Premium Tacoma for $38100.

The 1 GM I owned was a 07 Silverado 1500. I bought it with 30k on it and traded it at 55k~ miles, things had already started to fall apart, I spent thousands keeping it on the road over the course of the 3.5 yeas I owned it. Finally had enough and got rid of it after spending another couple grand, maybe I got a lemon, but its still inexcusable as I take care of my vehicles... On the flip side my 2010 Tacoma has 180K miles on it and has been very reliable.. I trust it more then a brand new GM..

Keep asking more questions; the third gen sub-forum can get real interesting at times. I would say buy a Tacoma over a Canyon, but then I drive a Tundra anyway. What is it you want out of your future truck? It might be in here somewhere already but there's a lot of fluff in this thread.

Tacoma —and Toyota— owners can be loyal to a fault.

Some of these responses only show that some need to go out, see and experience the wider world.

Vehicles in general are becoming ridiculously expensive. There’s nothing wrong with cross-shopping. It is one of the privileges we enjoy of living in a free market.

I cross shopped many trucks before buying. I too was between a GMC Canyon and a Tacoma. Now I can say I made an informed decision.
