I have owned many brands of years. I put a lot of miles on and like to try different trucks and overall most have been good and today they seem all pretty good and yes al them can have issues and can get a bad one any brand. The one biggest negative to me for Ranger over couple of interior issues I wish it had is discount off msrp right now all they would do at time I looked was 2k off total. After my 16 Colorado experience I know if I want to go Ranger wait a little while and soon I believe they too will offer discounts from msrp like the gm twins are now at about 6 to 8k

No you can get a TRD Pro and still have thousands left over to mod for what they are asking.

I think it’s a bad sign for the 2020 Bronco.

Don’t buy a Ranger HP and torque are overrated qualities on any vehicle let alone a midsize truck. Stay Tacoma. On a side note that new ‘21 Bronco is gonna be sweet, the real new Ranger coming about the same time should be nice as well with multiple engine options and trim levels perhaps even a Raptor version. I’d stick with the Tacoma at this point and keep benefiting from that vaunted resale value and decide in about a year and a half.

Stay Tacoma? Why? So you can listen to Toyota's excuses about how your truck is fine while it practically stalls in the middle of traffic lanes? I've driven ecoboosts and the 3.5L in the Tacoma is laughable even compared to the engine in the Fiesta ST.

At least Ford owners sue the company over these sorts of misrepresentations. Tacoma owners just accept the decision of the minimum wage drone at the "Customer Experience Center" and go talk about how manly their TRD Pro grill looks while they get 15mpg combined.

They know they are getting crap gas mileage though when they purchase them. TRD Pro seems more like a toy than a daily driver anyways.

The sticker for essentially my car (I have an Off Road instead of a Sport) says 17 city, 20 highway. I have NEVER hit 20 on the highway (18 is typical under 70mph) and I get high 14's combined. TRD Pro wheels, new highway tires, I don't drive very aggressively. Again, what's the excuse for this when the Ridgeline gets better than 30mpg?

One thing I did note, which is silly, that opening the tailgate and folding the tonneau cover gives you another 1MPG or so. Go figure.

And yeah, I completely agree that the TRD Pro is a toy, and an overpriced one. You get slightly better shocks than the OR, the rest is basically cosmetic. It's still people with Jeeps doing all the hard stuff. Toyota doesn't want you doing anything more than a glorified gravel road. The dealer techs ask me if I "off road" so they can write off my warranty.

You should expect to get less than sticker gas mileage though. It’s the real world not the perfect test lab conditions they have setup.

    Here's a couple of reasons
A ranger may be attacked. Visitors may be armed with knives, guns or other weapons. Not all visitors are peaceful families; criminals sometimes seek refuge parks to escape capture or commit crimes. Rangers may face assault when they attempt to subdue a suspect, ask campers to reduce noise levels or investigate a suspicious vehicle.

"During our 200-mile highway fuel-economy test, the Ridgeline exceeded its highway rating by a significant 3 mpg."

So it got 28 or 29mpg. I'd be happy just to get sticker gas mileage instead of 4mpg less. Most V8's get better gas mileage than the Tacoma.

I guess the new Ranger is the “Gay Wedding Cake” of the midsize segment. If Ford wants to move more units, they might want to capitalize on this very idea. A lot of same-sex fellas have butt-loads of disposable income.....just sayin.....no offence intended.
