Looks are too subjective to be taken seriously. One man's treasure is another's garbage. I never buy a vehicle based on looks alone. I buy performace. I don't "wear" my vehicles.

Why even compare NA to induction, it’s not apples to apples. No matter what research you do NOT find, you’re convincing no one that induction lasts as long as an NA engine.

If you’ve ever owned anything with a turbo or supercharger, it will not last longer than the NA equivalent. More moving parts, more heat, more maintenance more frequently, more EMU/ECU calculations, and more problems. You gain power and efficiency, at a trade-off of longevity. Hence TRADE-OFF! You’ll never enjoy a turbo without that trade-off. Top that, you’ll probably want to flash/dyno, put dumb engine mods, like a CAI, and tell everybody you’ve increased longevity by doing so. It’s an assumption, but likely to happen.

Tacoma’s have the highest retention value of any model automobile year over year. No matter how shitty your opinion of the Taco, price tells all. And, its price retention suggests it lasts longer than any of the alternatives.

Hopefully within several years will get the Raptor version of the Ranger.

Probably more than the price of a Pro, but much more capable and much more fun!

Yep, will buy one and give you the feedback here.

PS Note the Ford Raptor's depreciation? Seem to be holding their value quite nicely.

    You're silly.

I think you also didn't read a single word I said...

I'm not arguing that the EB engines can HANDLE the power. I know they can. They're phenomenal engines. I'm a member of ecoboostperformanceforum.com, I'm a moderator on fusionsportforum.com, and I love the ecoboost engines. I've been a ford fan my entire life. That said, I also understand that more power (per liter) equals more wear. Higher cylinder pressure pushes the piston rings against the cylinder wall harder, and creates more force acting on the bearings. Rings and bearings are going to wear faster on smaller engines with fewer pistons making more power. It's a simple fact of science and engineering. Barring any design flaws in the 3.5 that would lead to premature wear, I highly doubt there will be many 2.3 EBs that outlast the average 3.5 otto/attkinson. The very thing that i hate most about the taco is what will make it (most likely) last longer than smaller 2.3 EB, and that's it's pathetic power output.

One last thing. You don't have to sell me on the ranger. Look back a few posts and you'll see that I've already decided I'm trading in the taco when the sales incentives are more appealing on the Ranger. I'm just not going to kid myself in thinking it's going to last 500k without a rebuild. Especially considering I'm going to have a $400 tune on it making ~360hp 400ft/lbs within a week of getting it. Something that would cost $thousands in a taco. ;)

Trying to argue anything with this guy is pointless you can show him facts from Ford saying the same thing and he will argue it! He’s a miserable troll who hates everything and everyone. He only gets Joy arguing with us on here since everyone else in his life refuses to talk to him.

I'm familiar with the type. Sometimes I like to get into with those types as a sort of brain excercise. As long as it remains mostly civil, I'll keep going until one of us breaks our keyboard. It's tough to tell between a troll and someone with a reading comprehension deficit, though, so I try to remain patient.

I should ALSO add that the reason I'm trading in the taco for a ranger isn't because I don't like the taco. I like it a lot, in fact. I don't like the power, but I love the terrain management. From and objective standpoint, I think the two are very close competitors in terms of functionality. They each give up some features for some others. My main reason for the eventual switch will be mostly due to brand loyalty, and because I fucking love turbos.

You are more patient that I. Though this guy has really pushed my patients to the limits. No one had a problem when he first switched over it’s his money his choice. No one had a problem the first few times he chimed in to tel everyone they are stupid because they drive a vehicle they love and are passionate about. It was about the 1 millionth time he chimed in even real patient people began to get a little annoyed, which was months ago now! He just argues and argues and a lot of times contradicts himself doing so! And as soon as someone proves him wrong he just ignores them. It’s quite pathetic actually. Glad he is happy with his choice but truly wish he would spend his time on the Ranger forum not trying to pick and start fights with people who truly love there trucks and use them for truck things not just driving down the road Hating everyone around.

I am ready to buy another truck, and I briefly looked at the Ranger before declaring the interior to be pretty cheap, and then knowing that I won't get the resale value or the reliability of Toyota, it's definitely a no go for me.

And that is very fair! Turbos are fun as hell. And if you like Ford all to you. The F150 has proven itself countless times. I truly hope the Ranger does suit your needs better!

This is the best part... no way he’ll be getting those numbers. And, I would never brag about a cheap tune. $400 is not road-tuned, not worthy, and not at WHP.

What will happen. He throws a rod or ring land after the ECU flashes third party and can’t flash back.

Thanks for clearing that up. I suggested the internals of the EcoBoost were designed to handle the additional "stress" That was my understanding anyway,

Funny part is all these guys getting the Ranger is to have the fastest new Toy. But with OV posting his new TT numbers we will be destroying both the Ranger and the F150. 6psi and already 380whp and he said 10psi is coming very soon. I honestly can’t wait to see the first tuned f150 3.5eb face when I walk him! Mat at OV said 10psi doesn’t even slip the auto tranny at all and the numbers show this engine can handle 16+psi with little strain
