First off, no that is not my GN. Just a pic I swiped off the 'net. I wish I owned a GN, GNX, or even 'just' a Regal. I do however have a great love for those cars. I like the body styling of the late 70's through late 80's Cutlass and Regals. Obviously the performance of the GN/GNX's, which was fantastic for it's day as a factory built car, is just icing on the cake.

As for the F150's, I know he has seen cam phaser issues, the fore mentioned condensation in the intercooler, carbon build on the valves and he has seen several turbo bearing failures. To the best of my knowledge these have been bonestock F150's. I know some of the condensation issues have been with IDNR patrol trucks. I never said they were unreliable off the lot. I said they can be unreliable after roughly 100,000 miles. And for the poster in this thread who said that no one keeps their vehicle that long, well a lot of folks around here do including me.

I wasn't thinking about the carbon on the valves. That one is a genuine concern for the ranger if you don't use quality oil. The new f150s and many other newer EcoBoost engines with dual injection eliminate that, but unfortunately the Ranger is still direct injection only, so the ones the belong to owners that think "oil is oil" will almost certainly have crusty valves at 100k. In fact, I'd wager a lot of ecoboost failures can be attributed to using low quality oil or poor maintenance practices.

That right there is the one point you, I and my mechanic friend agree apon 100%. Questionable quality oil or quality oil that does not meet Fords spec, and long OCI's are bad news for ecoboosts.

I saw that a while ago. I don't usually take truck buying advice from hipsters, and when they said the Ridgeline was their top ranked pickup truck, they confirmed why.

I'm surprised this video doesn't have more views. It's actually pretty accurate and unbiased. Although I assume they aren't talking $USD because $49k is more than anything I've seen in a Ranger. You'd have to add every available option and accessory to reach that monumental price for a ranger. A similar F150 would be closer to $60k as well.

I can detect the Canadian ‘hoser’ accent from 20,000 metres. Those guys are for sure hosers. Don’t let the Asian background of the one fella fool you.

That departure angle though...isn’t funny how practicality looks weird.

I scoped out a silver ranger with a dealer installed leveling kit and tires. Looks pretty slick.
