Yes, if a prepped race truck. But you've heard of PreRunners, right? Folks daily and desert them regularly. Not racing, just driving.

But I was just responding to your statement of

Since you seemed to miss the point, I'll make it simple.

    That statement is ridiculous.

Or maybe not. You did say 'you' could not justify that. Apparently the 10's of thousands of other truck buyers of 2wd can do it just fine. :p

I'll see myself out now. :hattip:

Unless you go through mud a lot I would keep what you have.

Note that it says, driving on dry and hard surface roads in 4h and 4L MAY cause leaks, damage etc. It is perfectly fine to put a vehicle into 4H or 4L on a dry hard surface as long as SPEED and STEERING are limited. Stay below the recommended speed and don't make any sharp or quick turns.

Not on a Tacoma, but I had a Grand Cherokee a few years back that required a new transfer case due to not regularly engaging 4WD. Didnt put it into 4hi until I had about 10k miles on it, the actuator was jammed up, fried the motor and messed up T Case internals.

1st rule of minor mods... Expect you'll never get your money back. Exceptions would be if you're doing something big like a topper or a great wheel/tire setup. The right buyer may pay more for those big mods but not for the minor stuff.

That is a mob mentality of thinking FYI. Yes I said "I" because that is the only person's choice I can make. It just doesn't make sense to me. Thats the great part we don't have to agree they make 2wd and 4x4 for those to make the choice on their own.

I kept my Inferno for all those who still care about the OP. $50 more a month for 3 years but i'd be losing all of my stuff; tires, level, grille, leds, tint, etc. Thanks for all the input though guys!
