    ...a Ridgeline.

I know it gets a ton of hate and laughs here. But hear me out.

My in-laws are moving out to a rural property. Mostly surrounded by gravel roads in the Canadian Prairies.

My father in law is an old dude. Your typical old dude. When my wife was looking to buy her 4Runner he asked, with all seriousness, "have you looked at the Buick Enclave? Nice SUV."

He currently drives a Honda CRV. Loves it. Has had Hondas for years. He's more of a bells-and-whistles kind of guy verses a capability guy. He doesn't want a full size truck otherwise I'd talk him into the other old-guy-stand-by, the F150.

Is it really that bad? Or just goofy? He wants a bed and prefers AWD to 4WD. Seems the Ridgeline would be a good fit but I don't know much about them.

Tell him to buy a Tacoma and just leave it in 4-hi.

Do not listen to all the little insecure cunts on here. Ridgeline is fine.

    Loves his CRV.
    Wants a bed.
    Doesn't need full size truck.

Sounds like a Ridgeline to me.

My 2005 Pilot has served me well. Same chassis and drivetrain as the Ridgeline.

I had a 08' Ridgeline before my Taco. I have seen the new ones on the road, but never looked at one in person.....

For what you describe, it would be perfect. The ridgeline rode alot smoother then the Taco does. Has a more comfortable, and refined interior then the Taco.

My only complaints I had were with the engine/transmission. The truck had tons of power, but the VTEC would need to be revved like crazy to make said power. I got tired of all the crazy downshifts it made just driving along, not even counting when I put my small 5x8 enclosed behind it.

People hate on the Ridgeline, but realistically the majority of people on here would truly enjoy the truck, but its not cool and everyone needs to claim how they do tons of off roading when they never really do.

It’s honestly not a bad truck, but the truck bed rails are where it gets all the hate from me. I’ve always wondered why they put them at an incline. To me, the truck bed is a key component to the truck.

Honda Ridgeline, if the other option is a Buick Enclave. The Buick Regal Tourx, is kind of interesting because it's a wagon. I don't find Buicks appealing unless it's RWD, and no longer in production.

He would honestly hate the Tacoma. Ha. Every time he's in the 4Runner he asks "why doesn't this have..." some sort of button, beep, or creature comfort. He's blown away that we can't close the liftgate with a button.

Its a seriously nice vehicle. There are really only two reasons why I'm not in one - a, the tow capacity, and b, the well-mannered driving characteristic.

Most people these days, without realizing it, want their cars to have the exact same road feel as a Nissan Juke or a Sienna minivan. Solid, comfortable, predictable, no frills, no surprises. Turn the wheel left, and it does exactly that. I'm a weirdo that likes my cars to have personality. Personality is fun, but not always comfortable. Tacomas have personality. Ridgelines do not. They are predictably comfortable, which is what most people would be happy with.

If the vehicle serves his purposes, and has no underlying ticking time bombs, (like Tacoma frames) why try to talk him into something he won't like? 'Cause then it will be your fault.

Seriously old. Curious what that means to you?

Had a 2010 Ridgeline to 250k miles with zero real issues. It was a comfy ride and towed our riding mower trailer without any issue. Sold it to my in laws and they still use it daily.
