Went surfing with my buddy here in WA and yeah, changing out of a wet suit was a PITA on a summer day, I cant imagine doing that outside in the freezing weather (when there's big waves). A van like the Sprinter would be perfect for any type of sports you have to change in and out of in the elements.

Yeah I'm a noob so it took a while to peel it off. But still, undressing when its like 40 degrees outside while wet doesn't sound appealing at all lol.

My buddy with the Sprinter came up here from LA this past spring, we mountain biking one day...pulled into the trail head, and it was packed...awfully nice getting changed into my cycling clothes in the van. Really nice keeping the bikes and gear out of site....though got a lot of looky loo's with the Sprinter itself.

I used to have a VW Westy for about 8 years, while small...did like it for changing in and out of gear...just pop the top.

Hmmm...Sprinter...probably way more practical for what I need and use over a pickup...do I really need 4WD? (cause no way am I paying $50K for a 4WD Van no matter how cool it is)...I do see Transit 250s with the N/A V6 for around the $25K mark (slightly used ones under $20...another $12K or so gets 4WD from Quigley or QuadVan...about Tacoma prices...hmmm...

That is the thing...I like driving, and seeing all the stuff in between...yeah you have to go through some crap, but the journey is what it is all about. Just did a quickie drive up to Northern Idaho to go check out Coeur d'Alene and Sand Point....I found CDA "ok"...Sand Piont was pretty cool, but man...the country-side getting there and back was spectacular...would of been a shame to miss all of it, if I just plugged my destination into a Prius and woke up when I got there.

Always wanted to see the Palouse...it was literally pouring down rain all morning driving back, as soon as I turned on the road to start heading into the Palouse, the storm broke...

I'll even throw one in of the wind farms, since we are talking about EVs in here...to keep the thread somewhat on topic. :D

That said...having a car to drive me on the commute would be a-ok.

Love driving...absolutely hate commuting...would imagine if everyone had self driving vehicles, traffic wouldn't be as bad. It takes the human err out of it.

I mean geebus...There is an accident a couple times a week on my commute...it is mostly a straight shot, how in the hell do people wreck going straight!?

Just think, at traffic lights, all of the cars would instantly go, little to no hesitation as there are with humans. Be akin to putting two slot cars on the same slot of the track.

Completely agree on your perspective of enjoying the journey too man. But commute traffic is hell.

    *thumbs up*

We do Baja too when I lived in AZ....so yeah I could see having a self driving car for the 8. :D

Yeah it is...and we have easy here in Boise...kinda laughable compared to your CA traffic...ex-wife is from Cupertino...don't know how you guys do it over there, and I grew up with East Coast traffic in PA.

Yeah, I don't pay too much attention to cars...as I really don't like them. Only started looking recently because of the newish commute...look at them, and still turn my nose up at them...the thought of having to drive a car makes me cringe a bit...and all to just to save a little money on fuel.

Like riding the bus...think I'll just work a little more so I don't have drive one...I am a cheap SOB, but have to draw the line somewhere. :D

turn DOWN your nose at them, you mean ;)

Riding the bus is gross. The demographic that rides the bus in this city is questionable human beings.

Ha! no up....like mang that smells awful...turning away and crunching up my nose in disgust...get it away from me!...gawd I really hate cars....unless it is a Hot Rod, Muscle or Sports car...and those just get me into trouble...as I can't keep my foot out of the throttle.

Yeah, that and it just takes forever to get anywhere. Like my own personal cage.

Years ago, had my license suspended for 6 months for street racing....and almost had it revoked again in my mid 20's for having too many speeding tickets...yeah I just need to stay away from fast cars.

Good thing Tacomas are under powered turds...
