yeah, that is why I ride dirt bikes now...save the speed and scaring the shit out of myself for the trail.

Did the street bike thing for a bit...that thing was either going kill me, or put me in jail...or both!

Doing 157mph on the bay bridge in the middle of the night was fun and stupid on the street bikes.

I still ride street bikes, helps with splitting lanes at times.

Almost bought another...and thought to myself...I'll shoot my eye out...don't need another one of those.

Now, I just set the cruise at whatever the speed limit is in the truck...and try to keep myself entertained by listening to Car Talk, and murmuring to myself what assholes the other drivers are... ha ha!

Refer to the cruise as the "self control" button....

My gen 1 has no cruise control

Also if I set it at 70mph on these hilly roads, the lethargic 2.7L couldn’t maintain it anyways

Being probably 15-20 years away from giving up my drivers license I hope they develop self driving cars pretty soon.

It is a fairly level straight shot on the interstate for me...set it at 65, and usually don't have to touch until the off ramp 30 miles away...of course some dipshit(s) always screws up that method, as one of the thrills I try for having such a boring commute is to see if I can go all the way without touching anything.

I could see where self driving cars would get rid of all the assjackery that happens on the road. tailgaters and bastards cutting me off makes me become unglued...fuck man, I drive manual trans...I am leaving that space between me and the car in front of me so I don't have to push the clutch in you fuck! For fucks sake...gaaad I hate commuting...

...and young females seem to be the worst for tailgating...even excessively washing the windshield doesn't deter them...too busy looking at their gawd damn phone.

Thought of filling the bed of the truck with those balls from a ball pit...and rig up the tailgate to open...and those balls go bouncing all over the highway...hmmm ( i can see it now)...that would be hilarious, probably get me arrested. :D

you really do appreciate living when you're on the track pushing your mental limits and makes you realize you dont need to do that stuff on the streets

    Interesting article.

Not discounting any technology, but found the last sentence amusing:
Meanwhile, Elon Musk, who has called hydrogen power “incredibly dumb,” “extremely silly,” “mind-bogglingly stupid,” and most succinctly, “bullshit,” will be unveiling an electric battery-powered semi truck in November.

Elin Musk - if he manages to hold his conglomerate together it will be a real achievement, and he is not lacking "gumption", lol.
