    I have a set of 4 Bilstein 5100's I need to get installed...I have 4-leaf rear

I'd like to raise the front, but don't want to destroy the ride. My plan was to set at .85, maybe 1.75.

I want to maintain some rear rake. no bro for me please.

as I understand it...the front 5100's load the coils for the lift. not so sure I want to do this?

what coils would provide a small amount of lift...an inch...inch and half, and allow me to install the 5100's at zero?

    thanks

Fog lights, back-up camera, TRD cat-back exhaust, towing package, int. wiper stalk, Weathertech floor liners, color-matched the front bumper and grille, TSB leaf packs, Front Bilstein 5100's at 0", Eibach/Toytec coils (approx 1.25" front lift - sits almost level), rear Bilstein 5100's.
I have the TSB packs, 5100s on all 4 corners, fronts at 0" with Eibach/Toytec coils. I got about 1.25" out of them, with the rear still sitting about 1" higher. That was perfect for what I was going for.

All of this stiffins up the suspension quite a bit. I like it that way though; I didn't much care for the mushiness of the stock suspension. I know some folks like it though, so that's something to think about.

If you keep stock coils setting them at .85 you will still have a slight rake, @ 1.75 you will be level...

    and thanks

just not sure I want to load the front stock springs. seems, if I'm gonna do it, I should get new coils for a few more bux if there is a set that does what I want.

1 1/2" IIRC , the ride will be less stiff that preloading your stock coils to 1.75"

Aren't the TRD Sports coils non progressive? meaning they wouldn't be affected by pre-load?

Jack up the front end until you add 1.5" to the hub to fender measurement and this will give you an idea of what it will look like.

    OR

Jack it up to the point you like and then measure the hub to fender and compare that to the stock difference. That will give you an idea of the amount of lift you want.

I have the OME 884's on my 4x4 DCLB 4.0 and I got just under 2" of lift (it had the bro lean until I put in the aal). You can compare length and spring rate of the 883's to the 884's and it should give you some idea of the lift.

    follow-up question?...

    Eibach coils vs. OME 883's...

    about the same lift?

    about the same ride?

also...if I keep the stock springs and set the 5100's at .85, is the ride changed much?

No updated photos of the truck, but I am running the 4 leaf pack, billies all around and the fronts @ 1.75". Looks level, but there is still a slight rake. Rides great, and most who stay below the max setting of these shocks have no issues with alignment or vibration issues

What did you end up doing? I am in the same boat. I have a 2012 TRD Spt DCSB 4x4 and was thinking of doing billys with stock coils. I only want to lift the front btween 1"-2" and have the best ride possible.

The ride won't change much at .85". Currently I have my front 5100s set at 1.75" with stock coils and in the rear I have the 4 leaf TSB pack with a 1.5" AAL. The ride is still pretty smooth and the AAL in the back gives me a nice rake and helps when I am hauling my loaded trailer.

I have not done anything yet. Probably keep the stock springs and set the 5100's @ .85

I don't want/need to upgrade the rear and don't want to change the ride.

    Yeah.
I did the 0.85 on my 2WD '09 with the TSB rear leaf pack. It was almost level (slight rake) and I liked the ride and handling much better. It stiffened the front a little and felt more balanced, less "dive" into turns. It wasn't a big difference, just enough to notice. I think you'll be happy with that setup.
