Yeah I am not expecting $30,000 that is just the starting point.

Yeah I'll probably just end up trading it in for whatever who knows.

    Ah, sorry to hear this.

I just sold my 1st gen with 223k on the odometer for $15k. I pretty much returned it to stock other than the welded on sliders and OME suspension.

I picked up a 2nd gen (15 TRD OffRoad) with mods I was already planning on doing as well as some "nice-to-haves" and a few "maybe eventually, if ever" for a reasonable price in the current market.

I personally think values hit their peak when I bought about a month ago. I'm starting to see the Toyota dealers fill up with 3rd gens and used prices starting to drop again.

It is probably worth removing more mods that you can and returning back/close to stock - especially if you plan to trade in.

See what the dealer is willing to take for it, but let them know that your suspension will be going back to stock. I'd be curious as to what they would offer you.

    Some more thoughts…

I was about to sell the 1st gen and then buy a high mileage Prius for a few months until the "right" deal popped up (and the market calmed down). It may be worth considering picking up a temporary vehicle so you can return the truck closer to stock and shop around to get top dollar and then wait for the right/perfect 3rd gen to come up at a great price.

What about all the parts you bought for the 3rd gen?

Why not get a trade in value and list it for $3k over that? If it doesn't sell before you're ready to buy cut your losses.

I agree that a lot of the mods are going to deter potential buyers and will likely negatively impact the trade in value.

Once the Rack, RTT are gone it will look the same. Don't need the fridge, compressor or dual battery. These were all just things I liked to add to the look and never used. Probably sell the Yakima Rack and Awning as well.

I mean, no offense, but a truck like this is pretty worthless, if you're just trying to get rid of it I'll make it disappear for $20.

    :p

I've seen similarly spec'ed rigs with a 40k+ asking price, don't know if they sold for that but I would start at 30k at least.
