It’s similar to Tesla parts. You can’t go down to your local Autozone for a broken door handle part (common issue).

My dad got this in the Navy in the 80s, still works to this day. No software updates, no new parts, it was just built to work.

Your authorized Sears appliance technician is now a part replacer. They don’t diagnose circuit boards, they just sell you a brand new one and install it.

Go with a Bosch if you need to replace your dishwasher.

I’ve had a terrible time dealing with my Bosch oven and refrigerator. Just saying.

OP, funny I read that. Just last week the guy I work with who has a 2013 mentioned that he has been dealing with pinging during hot weather since he bought the truck new. I don't think he realized how bad that is for the engine. Within 5 minutes I found a TSB (from 2014!) for a ECU update to address that specific issue. He visits Toyota for ALL of his service and never thought to bring that up in conversation. It happens.

I get pissed everytime I go to open the door on a Tesla. Innovation does not mean having to perform two tasks instead of one to open a door.

Don't even get me going. Right now, we're dealing with the second major failure on a 4yr old fridge. This time, it has lost all the coolant. One of the few times that we bought an extended warranty and am damn glad. I am honestly surprised that a fridge would lose the refrigerant in this day and age.

The store is struggling to get parts with the virus situation. They have to try replacing all the guts first. Like $1,200 to $2k worth of parts and work, at least a half day of it.

Oh yeah. It has OBD and didn't not have a code / sensor for lost coolant. But, it can diagnose 65 other conditions . . .

Good points. But you also have feature creep in all software. let's add this! That will be cool. Or easter eggs in Excel.

Adding features is fine, fixing features that are already there should not be a thing, make it work before you release it.
Ive never seen a IOS update that made a phone faster.. they all make it slower.

The capacitor on my AC Unit has failed a few times, thankfully it has never been an issue for the Tech to swap out.
