Hi guys! So if I wanted a little taller but not wider tire what size would I have to go with? I can’t go with a wider thread width on my tires because where I’m at now barely makes our safety check regulations here in Hawaii. Right now I have the 245/75/16’s. Is it even possible to have something taller but with the same width?

Both of those are wider than a 245, though. That's the implicit logic to metric sizing, a 255 is 10mm wider than a 245, so when he said
that leaves 235/85R16 as the only actually made option coming from 245/75R16. There aren't any 245/80R16 or 245/85R16 that I know of at least.

    A 235/85R16 is about 1" taller and about 1/2" narrower than a 245/75R16.

I have 255/85-16 tires on steel rims with 1" spaceers. They passed recon and safety inspections. Let us know if you have spacers and/or aftermarket rims.

You can’t even have wide tires in Hawaii?

10mm is no where near an inch so 235 are like .4" narrower than 245 and 255 are .4" wider. Just clearing that up... Carry on

Check my build thread...too much to list.
You technically can but the tire cannot be wider than the fender flare. So if you want to attach wide gaudy flares your tire can be as wide as you want.

I just went with 235/85R16 wildpeaks and couldn't be happier. Not a popular size, but a good one!

Also a 255 thats .4" wider will really only be .2" wider outside of the truck since the other .2" will stick under the the truck on the opposite side of the rim and 255/85/16 ftw

No complaints with KO2 in 235/85R16 here. I do wish they made them in 255/85R16, which is the size I really want. :)

If you plan on keeping your rims, take off the spacers. 255 tires will fit and are a 33" tires. With a stock suspension you will probably have to trim some of the plastic in the wheelwell.

Guess the question is going from 30.5 x 9.7 (245/75R16) to a 33 x 10 (255/85R16) tire just a "little" taller and "no wider"? What do you want @LittleLady808? A 255/85 is going to really fill out the wheel well on your truck, especially on stock suspension. Won't have much room to flex. I have about 2" of lift on stock rims and Camburg UCAs and there's room for my 235/85s to work without rubbing anything but not tons.

I have a 2" leveling kit on my truck and was thinking of getting a slightly taller tire rather than wider. I like my wheel spacers so thought maybe I could keep them and see if a taller but same width tire was possible. I don't want to go with 2 big a tire though because I don't think my 4cyl could handle it! Lol

235/85r16 here as well. Seems like this size would fit the bill.A83108EF-A698-4609-B342-BFE1823D912B.jpg
