Just curious, if you change your tires from 30" to 33", isn't your hub now 1.5" higher than the factory setting and does it change your lift vs diff drop ratio. Sorry if this has been discussed before.

yes to the middle of the hub being higher from a taller tire. A diff. drop is really just a differential tilt so, no, you gain no more clearance. If it were a true diff. drop, it would be a small lift.
A suspention lift is usually just a way to put even bigger tires. It does nothing for dfferential height.
Where the real argument is, is just how big of a tire you can put under a Tacoma, lift or no lift.

edit: Drop bracket lifts are kind of (very) frowned upon on the Toyotas. They do what you're picturing in your head, lowering the entire suspention not only the differential.

I’ve never heard the term “lift vs diff drop ratio”, but I can say that tire diameter does not change the distance from the diff to the hub. It raises the hub the same amount as the diff.

Also note that stock tires are closer to 30.6” and “33’s” are usually about 32.8”
or there abouts, thus the radius difference is closer to 1” than 1.5”. You need to check the actual tire diameter for more accurate measurements.

This will give you a benchmark:
