    Yeah, you do seem to get a better grip on the lay out of a place when you're the lead dog...except Richloam. The place is just too damn big it seems like. You have to be out there every weekend to really get to know all the trails on sight...especially without a decent GPS map of the place.

    Speaking of tweaked bumpers...I just untweaked mine from when I was having to snatch Squeaky out of that last hole at Richloam. I seriously need to get something a little more solid for a recovery point and lose that stupid multi-fit rock anchor.

    I use some foaming degreaser, cover the alternator and spray the foam everywhere and it takes most of it off without touching it with a rag.

    I'll have to try that sometime. Seems like everytime I see someone post a pic of the engine bay of their 1st Gen, it's freakin' spotless, even if they wheel their shit...especially the painted metal parts (wheelwells, firewall, etc). It drives me nuts 'cause mine has never been that clean and what efforts I've made to get it there have fallen well short. Made me wonder if these guys take an entire day with a tooth brush and a bottle of detailing fluid just scrubbing their engine bay. I don't have the energy or attention span to get that carried away with it though.
