Hey does anyone want to trade there stock intake for my K&N 77 Series maybe we swap it out at the mod day

Probably realized that K&N setup is just asking for water ingestion.

Said he wants to do a snorkel. I won't get into that deep of water and plus I'm up higher

 

That and the factory setup is pretty good at keeping water out...as long as the wheel well liner is left in place. (*cough*Frank*cough*)

Elaborate on this poor man's snorkel. I'm a poor man too nut I don't think I'll ever be that deep.

Lee my inner fender lining is gone. I put a small piece back so the tires couldn't splash water up but The majority is pulled out

 

Do you check you air filter often? Because Frank removed his completely and looking at where the intake comes through the fender and how it's shaped, it might as well be a vacuum cleaner with your tire being a beater bar kicking the dirt/mud/water up so the intake can suck it right up. It probably isn't quite that bad for yours since you're a lot higher up and only 2WD so your tires can't actively fling crap up there when you get bogged down or stuck, but I would imagine you have to clean your airfilter a little more often than you would otherwise.

 

I have a drop in k&n despite everyone saying they will kill my mass air flow since most over oil them. I do check it and the last time we went I checked it after I got home and it was good to go. I also turned the little thing on the end so it's harder to get direct splash

The OGT had a K&N filter element when I bought it. Cleaned it once (last year this time) since I had the truck and I've never really had a problem out of it...at least that could be traced to the filter.

Again though, being 2WD, you probably don't sling nearly as much crap up into your wheel wells as I do.

BTW, the grass is mowed and the carport is swept off. Should be good to go for tomorrow. Now as to whether I'm good to go, remains to be seen, haha.
