So getting ready for a lift and am considering a ome lift or 5100s with 885. Both will probably have an aal. Unless someone can convince me to buy a full pack. Is there a big difference between the ome shocks and 5100s other than the adjustability? I'm am looking for 2-2.5 lift. Nothing crazy.

You can't really get crazy with a lift for a 4WD Taco unless you start talking about drop brackets, long travel, or SAS. :p

You're pretty much limited to 3 inches, which is just barely enough to clear 33s, so you might as well go all in for the full 3". It's not going to cost any more.

As far as OME or Billies, I really couldn't honestly say. I like my OME stuff (except the Dakars), but I'm a 1st Gen and I've never run Billies to have a basis for comparison. If you are running 3" lift OME springs though, the adjustment on the Billies is probably irrelevant since 3" is going to max out what your front suspension and CV angles can reasonably handle (presumably this didn't change from 2nd to 3rd Gen).

    Just my 2 cents.

Well, yeah, you can do 35s if you want to do the cab mount chop and trim some sheetmetal. Wes is running 35s after all. But Hugo has a brand new 3rd Gen that probably hasn't had it's first oil change yet. Not sure he'd want to start carving it up just yet. Or you could add a body lift to run 35s, if you wanted to go that route.

Interesting. Wonder if it rubs when stuffed, or if they've fixed the 2nd Gen issues with the 3rd Gen.

If I go the full three inches I would need to do uca asap and I was hoping i could
Push it back a few months. The 885coils say they give 2-2.5 inches and I wouldn't need uca with that lift. Didn't really want to do a body lift and have no interest right now to run 35s lol. Planning on some 265/75/16 for now.

Is that a 3rd gen thing with the UCAs? I've never heard that you HAD to change UCAs with 3 inches of lift. I'm running factory UCAs with 3 inches of lift. Granted, I'm a 1st Gen and also granted, my UCAs do just contact my coils at full droop, but I'm not spending any money upgrading the IFS suspension since my ambition is to get rid of it someday in favor of a straight axle.

Kinda small tires though. :p 33s are sort of the minimum you want to have if you want to do any really fun wheeling. :D

Even if you do a 3" lift with 33's you will still rub. UCAs are recommended but you can always do the lift first and see how your alignment is before you get some aftermarket UCAs

Ok. So if either kit would work I might just go with a complete ome lift. Should I run 275s or 285s and deal with the rubbing.

I'd go with 275s if you don't plan on doing any trimming, @Scooter WCT runs 275/70R17 and his look good

That's the exact wheel tire setup I've been debating lol. If i could find a used set I would jump on it. But since I'll end up paying retail I may get some scs f-5s.
