Pff.. its a big tree, it can take it. lol
Besides, that's why i wanted people with me.. then they can all run and no one will know who it was. :bananadead:

In all seriousness though, I'll call the Drew place, but am still open to suggestions. Like i said, it doesn't look bad; looks like it buckled right behind the hitch mount; bumper is maybe 10-15 degrees down. From what i was reading, i technically was only half kidding about hooking it to a tree..... but i would rather it done right by a shop, so...

This is why I tagged ya. I thought your frame got a little jacked in that accident and they fixed it. I haven't heard you mention any complaints so I figured they do good work.

Wanted to see if the owner of a quicksand 2016/17 double cab that lives or frequents an apt in Palm harbor is on the forums. The cambridge apts behind the publix on ridgemoor. Sorry to stalk ya, but that's a nice ride and wanted to ask a few questions.

Hello all I'm in Tampa and have been looking at dumping my RWD 4Runner for a 4WD Tacoma the last few months. No urgent impetus since it's been so dry, but definitely want to make it happen by spring time. If any of you folks see a deal I may want to check out at a dealer, craigslist, someone here etc I'd be grateful if you could make me aware of it. Have gone to look at a couple locally and as is sometimes the case not at all as advertised.

I'm willing to look at quite an array of setups, but the clincher is it must be 4wd V6 and non-smoker. I'd love it to be new enough to have bluetooth already installed I live on the phone unfortunately. Feel free to drop me a note on whatever ya see I'm pretty amenable to a lot of different potential Tacomas. If something blew me off my feet I might do it right now, but my tentative drop dead date is April 8 when spring turkey season ends on when I want to be closing in on getting it done. That's when my hunting focus changes, a brutal stretch of work travel comes up and tons of family obligations. Thanks all this place has been super helpful in my brief time here.

Don't know your limit but remember seeing this one a couple weeks ago. 4wd & new enough to have bluetooth. It may be priced a little high cause it's lifted.

Anyone know a decent tire shop that will take my OEM tires off and put them on some aftermarket wheels?

Every shop near me won't touch them because they only do new tires.

The Tires Plus on Dale Maybry in front of the Lowe's does mine. The put the used Toyos on the T4R for ~$90 mounted and balanced. I'll be visiting them again soon to mount the Nittos I just got from @TacoTRD78 (Thanks, John!) on the T4R wheels.

Edit: Just check your tire pressure and retorque your lug nuts afterwards.

Thanks! I went to four used tire shops today, they all refused to do it because they did not want to mess up my new wheels, or mess up the TPMS!

No problem. When Frank got his 35s, he gave me the two bald 33s he had to use as spares for the OGT. I had to have them dismounted and one of them mounted on my wheel. They didn't have any problems dismounting them off Frank's factory wheels with the TPMS sensors. Of course, they didn't have to even mess with the sensors to transfer them to new wheels or anything, but I don't think they would have hand an issue with it. The only thing they whined about, and it was just general tech belly aching was that they hate messing with factory Toyota wheels because it's evidently a PITA to get tires on and off of them. Other than that they were very reasonable, I thought, at $20/tire to dismount and remount and balance a set of used tires.

Again though, while they did a good job on the OGT's alignment and they get me right in and right back out in very timely manner every time I've been to them, they are what passes for a typical tire shop here in Tampa. I don't think they have a torque wrench in the entire shop and they might get your tire pressure right if you specifically ask them to set it at a certain pressure. When I got the T4R back, a majority of the lug nuts were overly tight and two tires were at 45 PSI while the other 2 were at 40 psi. They were supposed to be at 30 psi, although I'm running them at 35 since that's where the ride and handling feels best.

Basically, what I'm saying is I'm one of these OCD-types and a former Aircraft Maintenance Tech, so I'm very particular about how things are done and who messes with my truck. However, I do accept that for the things that i can't really do myself, some things aren't going to be done to my standards and I'll have to go behind them and make some adjustments (like torquing the lug nuts with a torque wrench and adjusting my air pressure to my personal specification). It's sad that this is a fact of life when you're paying for a service, but I have yet to find any place recently that will go that far for you.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think they do bad work and they are very reasonable, which is why I'm recommending them. I guess I'm just overly particular. That said, I might be less forgiving if I bought a brand new set of wheels and tires from them at full retail. They better kiss my ass to make me happy at that point, but just mounting a set of used tires I provided on my wheels, I'm willing to make some allowances since that's probably not a huge money maker for them.

Haha, sorry about the long winded dissertation.

Hey guys, I'm down visiting family for the week and I brought the taco. Grew up here so I know the area well, if there is a get together between the holidays that doesn't include offroading I'd be interested in checking out the Florida rigs.
