We haven't done a local TW meet in a long, long time. I'd be down to do a local meet at Smokey Bones, either the one in Citrus Park or the one off HWY 60 in Clearwater. Personally I'd prefer Citrus Park, just sayin', haha.

I'd be down for that (Citrus Park) one day for sure, I'm always in that area too. Yeah, I've been debating on going to the Quaker Steak meets since they seem to draw quite a few of us but driving across the water to Clearwater in 5 o'clock traffic is a turn off.

Thought Quaker Steak was St Pete, even worse. Don't blame you a bit there. Going through that corridor at rush hour with any sort of regularity is just making yourself a target. I was in 3 accidents (none of them my fault) in 14 months when I was commuting back an forth to AMT school in Clearwater.

Traffic and drivers just seem to be getting worse and worse, and despite loving to drive my truck, hate driving it in traffic.

Moved here not too long ago. Taco was built in CO, then to NC, now here in FL.
Anyone know a shop that specializes in Tacomas? There are a million Jeep places around here, I would like to deal with someone that works on a lot of Tacos instead.

    Just introducing myself.

Looking to hop into a Tacoma in the coming months. I have been eyeing them and saving for months doing research and whatnot - and the time is coming up. I have been looking at a slew of vehicle but everything brings me right back here. I'm in need of a daily driver that can stand the test of time, haul mountain bikes, be able to load up and go on camping trips.

Last year we got a Rav4 from Courtesy and it went as good as buying a new car can go. While im pretty sure ill be going back - I may make the trip to WCT since they come recommended on here.

I was set on a 4x4 early on but as time went on I realized for my purposes I wouldnt really be using it often enough to justify - however I do find myself going back and forth often.

Welcome aboard TW mate! Good luck on the search and feel free to ask the good questions when they come up, like how to hide your wallet so you don't go broke modding your truck. PS, there is so safe place to hide it, lol.

Luckily I think im passed that. Grew up swapping/turbocharging Hondas. Current DD is a 2014 Focus ST that hasnt been modded, so if the temptation to mod hasnt touched the Focus I think I will be safe with a Tacoma. I dont know if a topper/cap is considered a mod - I'd love to do one like the Go Fast Campers without the tent.

4WD, IMHO. It's better to have it and not need it than it is to need it and not have it. Welcome to the insanity.

One thing I find crazy around here is the amount of 2WD trucks. I guess I am just not used to it. It's almost impossible to find a 2WD truck in CO, but seems more common around here, for obvious reasons.
IMO, and I know this is a lifestyle thing, you never know where you may end up, so get the 4WD now, who knows when you may need / want it in your life's journey.

What about Mad Maxx on West Linebaugh? Anyone have experience with them, in general or with body lift?

I had them weld an exhaust tip on my SS exhaust not too long ago. Walked in at quoted $20 then became $40 plus tax. I used to weld for a living at one time and if bigger the blob the better the job is your standard then they were superb.
Update: The weld job on my stainless steel parts is now rusting.
I won't go back but a neighbor with a 4X2 Dakota had a 2" lift kit installed and he was happy.

So I’m officially a Tacoma owner. I am a bit miffed now that it’s a day later and I’m reviewing stuff - I think I got hosed at Courtesy. Should have reached out to Scooter, but I’m a pretty shy guy and it bit me. In the end I’m still happy with the truck - 2019 TRD OR.
