Their (Toyota of Tampa) service dept is insanely expensive. Gotta pay for that fancy movie theater thing and deli I guess. I won't go back there because of that, although I can't really complain about their work other than they don't know how--or maybe just don't give a shit--to properly install cotter pins (which as a retired aircraft mechanic, is a major pet peeve of mine).

Next time I need something done to the Odd Green Taco I don't feel qualified to do myself, I'm going to try WCT. Just my 2 cents.

Been okay. I blew my shoulder out for a while, but assuming I didn't tear it up again workin' on the Taco (should know by tomorrow if I did), then it's almost better. Still hurts when I move it abruptly, but at least I have my full range of motion back.

How about you, Mike? Get clocked with any pipe-wrenches or bit by any nasty spiders recently? :D

Hmm, something to consider since WCT is so close to my house. My brother-in-law loves the place and they always treat him right. They usually take him back and show what's broken and what needs to be done. I had the same relationship with Parks Ford until I sold my Ranger. Since I have 2 free years of Toyota maintenance the first oil change may be at WCT.
As for a movie theater and deli, that don't mean squat. Respect the truck and you respect the man. Anything else is just overhead.

Lee and Jack, please contact me before you do come in and I will get you hooked up w/ a good advisor. Also Jack, your service won't cost you anything for 2yrs/25k miles (possibly 3yrs/35k, if it has ToyoGuard). You will have a light come on every 5k (Maintenance Required Light) and that is a reminder to make an appointment. This might be your 1st Yota and didn't know about it, because your salesperson probably didn't tell you (yes, that's a dig at the untrained TOT salespeople lol)

Ooooh and we have FREE Manicures Mon and Wed (blah) and FREE Back Massages Tues and Thurs (and she is really cute shhhhhh) ;)

Well that clinches the deal. I could use a good message on the old shoulders. I have ToyoGuard Plus, which I think just comes with a single oil change. It came with the truck but wasn't something I asked for. Right now I'm around 1500, so another 3500 till it needs anything. I'll drop you a PM when it's time.

    Cheers,
    George

Thanks, Scooter. Probably won't happen anytime in the near future...hopefully. Anything I don't feel qualified to deal with myself I probably can't afford to fix anyway. Although...

What brand of synthetic motor oil do you guys use up there? I've got a few offers in the mail recently that indicated that I could take it somewhere and get the oil changed cheaper than I could buy just the oil and filter to do it myself. However, I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to motor oil. I will never put a Pennsoil product in my vehicle...ever. I prefer Castrol if I had a choice.

We obviously get our oil in bulk. It is Toyota oil and Toyota oil is manufactured by Mobil to Toyota specs. Ex: The Mobil1 0-20 that you can get at WallyWorld/Autozone/Etc is not the same as our oil.

Haha, yeah, I assumed that bulk-buying was how some places are able to offer an oil change cheaper than I could do it myself for. I've heard good things about Mobil products so if it came down to it, I wouldn't mind putting that in my engine. If it was made by Pennzoil on the other hand...:p

At any rate, I need to get it changed soon so expect a PM from me once I'm ready. :D
