By the looks of the first pic you will need them on the '16 also. Either can me made out of mdf with router snd sprayed (that's what I do) or there are manufactures that make them out of abs plastic (metra and scosche) or I know people will fab the factory speaker/bracket to house the new speaker (which I have done before too)

Speaker adapters are required. I purchased my speakers from Crutchfield and they were included. Interested in knowing how the generic sound deadener works out.

The rear wall n floor got some xtra treatment... Two layers, some spots got three! Especially towards the drive wheel...
The passengers side rears got it thick...

...and the "original" sound barrier goin back on!

Any update if this works good and smells ok vs. Dynamat or other brands? If works can really be cost effective.

It works. I can tell just by riding around in the neighborhood. Its definatley quieting up the cabin.

No smells. So far so good.
Its basically aluminum foil glued onto some 1/8" thick material. Foam material.
No tar lookin material or nothin...

If those only fit one way to the speaker terminals then you can identify their polarities. That is if the speaker has a polarity sign right beside the terminals.

There were noticable markings on the speaker terminals, and they were also both the same size... No biggie.
Took the stock speakers to a car stereo shop and they tested them and let me know the notched side of the connectors, the positive.

    Soooooooo-o.....

    LR+ white
    LR- black
    RR+ blue
    RR- green

When I get to the fronts done I will letcha know what those are...

    I meant, NO NOTICABLE markings...

What size are the speakers? I got the JBL system but thought about upgrading the speakers to better quality. Has anyone done this yet and is it worth it?

I think it is a 6 1/2 ". So the JBL speakers are not as good as the aftermarket ones?
