Tbay Ray. I'm wanting to do a system in my third gen and don't know anything about it. Is there a place around here you would recommend? I'm in Wesley chapel.

    Thanks!

Where and how can I verify this? My after-market speakers seem to work no matter how they're connected. Does it really matter?

From what I've found online, this is all correct, with the exception of the rear right speaker. Blue is (+)positive and green is (-)negative.
Can anyone please clarify and/or confirm???

Awesome, thank you. This is what I needed and is consistent with what else I've found online. ********* was no help, even after ordering their heavy-duty mounts, front and rear, and their special screw sets. I passed on the wiring harness because it's just a matter of plugging them in. But now they don't want to tell me about the colors and their polarity and just want to take advantage of people by hoarding this information and using it to sell a product that you already get included with new speakers. Just saying. Their heavy-duty mounts do work well, though. Just a bit of a tight fit to get the door panels back on because the mounts with speakers are very thick. But it does work. (Actually have to drill holes into the mounts to be able to screw speakers on).

OK, so after comparing notes from above and what I've found online, none of it holds true or applies to my application in my 2016 DC SB TRD OR 4x4.

    This is what I've found:

Driver's door - Dark green is positive. Lite green is negative.

Passenger's door - Grey is positive. Blue is negative.

Driver-side rear - White is positive. Black is negative.

Passenger-side rear - Blue is positive. Green is negative.

If you want to ignore colors, you can also determine polarity by looking at the plug on the end of these wires. The wire that terminates on the side of the plug with the most plastic is positive. Basically, if you look at the plug, both wires go into the plug, and the wire that goes into the plug closest to the edge of the plug, on the smooth side, is the negative wire. The wire that goes into the plug on the side that has more plastic around it, is the positive wire. And of course, you want to connect the positive wire to the positive terminal on your new speakers, and connect the negative wire to the negative terminal.

For a visual representation, you can see *********' wire harness here:
    https://*********.com/shop/toyota-t.../tacoma-aftermarket-speaker-harness-adapters/

Red is their positive wire, which leads into the side of the plug that has more plastic.
Black is their negative wire that leads into the side of the plug closest to the edge, with less plastic.
I hope this helps someone because ********* will not tell you.

    None yet
I know that this post has been dead for a while, but When I went in search of wiring information and came up with about a half a dozen different answers I figured that I would toss my hat in the ring.
It hit me that the way I used to determine this was to use the old speakers and a 9v battery. I would hook up the battery directly to the speaker. If the speaker pops outward, the polarity is correct. If it pops in, the polarity is incorrect. After you have determined the positive/negative of the speaker, its just a matter of tracing the wiring from the old harness as it was hooked up from the factory.
I hope that this is helpful to other folks looking to determine speaker wire polarity.
