3rd Gen Tan Softopper for Long Bed (6')
    Asking $500 [SOLD]
    Open to trades.
Pickup in Lakewood, CA. Willing to ship on buyers dime if I can't find a local buyer first.

I bought this because everyone says 2nd and 3rd gens are interchangeable and I wanted to replace my current black topper with a tan one. I got it installed on my 2nd gen and just didn't like how it fits compared to the ones made for the 2nd gen (yes, I'm a picky SOB). I even wasted a day of my time deep cleaning the canvas and polishing the windows. Would love to trade for a 2nd gen tan topper but guessing that's unlikely and just need this out of my garage so it's up for sale.

Very good condition, everything works as it should. Some minor wear pictured but overall in very good condition. The only notable thing is that it's missing the rear bar. Previous owner wasn't using it and didn't have it anymore. You can use it without this or they're only $16 to buy new from Softopper.

With how new this is I assumed $400 off buying new from Softopper would generate some interest but looks like that's not the case as I haven't had a peep of interest yet. So I'm dropping the price! Feel free to make me an offer. Also open to trades.

Interesting I didn’t know there was even a difference between the 2nd and 3rd gen softoppers but here’s a bump. I love mine and especially the tan. Try putting it on OfferUp and Facebook marketplace if you haven’t probably more SoCal traffic on there

Yeah, there's definitely a difference. The 3rd gen supposedly has a different (curved) rear bar. 3rd gen is also shorter, when installed on a G2 it will sit below the top of the cab. G2 installed on a G2 sits a bit higher than the cab or about equal with it. My main gripe, however, was that the front window panel is different. Specifically, the flap with the snaps isn't long enough. The snaps would need to go right where the utility track is. For most people these things don't seem to be an issue. You can certainly see that it will install on a 2nd gen just fine. I'm just uber picky. I want to be able to snap in that front window flap darnit! But it's also nice having the extra height for more storage space. I was able to fit 12 wheels/tires (mounted) for my Integra in the back along with 5 33" truck tires. All with the topper fully closed and looking normal. The 3rd gen version would have been too short to allow me to do this.

It looks great to me. I wonder what’s wrong. Anyway, here’s a free bump.

Nothing wrong with it at all. I just prefer how the 2nd gen version fits on a 2nd gen.

They are a hard sell IMO, I got my 6ft one off marketplace like brand new with a extra rear window and 2 extra clamps for the rails for 340 bucks :( The guy had it listed for months and I watched the price go from 600 to 400 and I offered 300 Lol

That hasn't been my experience here locally but I definitely see them dirt cheap in other areas that don't have as big and thriving of a second hand parts market. Market may have slowed down over the past few years but almost never do you see them here for <$500 and when you do, they're old, beat up or faded.

If it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to ship to the east coast, I would snatch it up!

Serious question; what products did you use and what results did you achieve polishing the windows? Mine are starting to look weathered and I'd love to know if you have any secret tricks on them.
