I also started on my grillcraft grill that has been hiding in the garage for a week.

This grill looks kick ass and will let the light out of my grill.

More pics to follow as I ran out of light tonight. I got the center section cut out with a side cutting dremel drill bit looking thing. Just go slow and careful, the instructions are really thorough and detailed with pics.

9-1-12 began my audio budget build

I acquired the pieces I needed through sonicelectronic, MrMarv, RAAMmat, ebay, and parts-express. Grabbed some knowledge off diyma.com, tacomaworld and the Xrunner site.

This wont be a how to, but I have a few pics and I hope someone enjoys it or learns from it.

I started by removing the rear storage boxes, various rear trim pieces, but left the headliner and trim panels with airbags in them.
I removed door skins and got ready to deaden and dampen them with RAAMmat products.

I got BXTII and PS Ensolite. I have little knowledge of other products, so I cant make a real comparison. I can say that the RAAMmat products pricepoint coupled with his experience and how-to on his site; I am really happy. I spent about $130 bucks....forgot the TW code, dang it, and had my stuff shipped ASAP. Very smooth transaction.

Anyway, I used the BXT on the out door skin, exterior side of inner door skin, and interior side of inner door skin, according to RAAMmats how to. WIth OEM crap speakers distortion or most likely vibration was reduced. The doors close with a thud as expected.

I had to drive around with the door panels removed fora while so I began to develop an ear for all the road noise. I was surprised at how much noise the interior trim panels block.

I then used Ensolite Peel and Stick on the door, prior to putting the door panels back on.

WOW. This stuff is sweet. Application is a breeze, although I did rip off some arm hair, lol. This stuff really takes the door deadening to a new level. I used little pieces of it to tighten up areas and stop vibrating cables within the door.

I will hand it to Toyo, though. They are really good at braceting down cable and wire runs. My 84 Gutless was no where like this.

Here are a few pics of the doors so far. Stay tuned (lol) and I'll be putting more up as the stereo build progresses.

I got the stuff from Marv a while back...still need to get pics and fit all that in the back. In the meantime, I painted the tweeter trim rings up front. Also put some halloween "punkin" lights in the bed thanks to my 5 year old.
