Hey guys, My stock radio on my 04 isnt working. The tape player thing where you put the tape in keeps going off. Like I plug it into my iphone and it plays but then stops and then plays again. It keeps happening. I brought a new tape thingy too. Anyone has this same problem as me and any fixes. Seems like I can only use the cd part.

I was looking at the junk yards but there damm like 200 lol. Way to much for used stock radio.
Well it has the cd thing on it. But I have an iphone and no aux port so I have to use the tape player and then hook it up to my iphone headphone jack.

why not just buy a cheap aftermarket one for like $70 with a aux input, or are you trying to keep the stock look?

Try cleaning the heads and spools in the cassette player. If that doesn't work you will need to pull the stereo and clean out the whole mechanism.

For less than $100 you can get a single din with a AUX input and USB port with ipod/iphone cotrols. And it will probably sound better than the stock stereo also.

Do you even listen to CDs anymore?

I bought my JVC for $100 and it has no CD player... it's just USB, Aux and bluetooth. (and AM/FM obviously)

So I stream anything I want from my iPhone (eg, iTunes library, Pandora, Tune In radio, etc).

Or hook my iPod up to it.

Or plug in a thumbdrive full of files.

Hey, don't knock the tape player! My kids love listening to the Weird Al tapes I got when I was a kid!

When you say it plays, stops, and plays..is it flipping the tape like the auto reverse if it hit the end of an actual tape? If so it's probably cheaper to buy a new radio like it was mentioned..I had that happen to a radio before and they said at least 200.

I'll add my name to the list who said probably just as easy to buy a new CD player since they all come with the aux and/or USB.
