Took my Taco into the dealer a few days ago and told them where I was hearing the rattle (left front twitter speaker). The guy said they that this is a known issue and they knew exactly how to fix this. When I got it back I asked how they did it and the technician told me they just pulled it off and put some foam tape on the that plastic piece - which is what everyone else seems to have done as well.

All that said just to let people know they can take it to a dealership and they should fix it for you as they did for me.

Several people has had their speaker cover replaced and the new part has longer clips/felt which keeps the part from vibrating

So How to remove the cover without breaking the tab? Do I have to remove the A-pillar first and ply it out from the right side? (Passenger side for example)

On my 2017, I had to remove the A-pillar cover before pulling the speaker cover. Pretty easy to do and lots of tutorials on this forum.

I found it a while ago. Took it off looking for something didn't find. Put it back and it went away for a while now it's back.

Need to try the shim idea

If you don’t want to risk breaking clips on the speaker cover, I’d recommend using some painter’s tape to mark the seam on the pillar cover where the speaker cover meets with the pillar. Do this while the pillar cover is still installed. Then pull the pillar cover and apply the felt tape along/below your tape line and reassemble. It’ll be invisible and you don’t have to remove the speaker cover at all.

Mines a 2018 and it does the same thing. Sounds like a ball bearing rattling around when it’s colder out. Seems like there’s at least four causes/cures for this prob so i’ll start with the easiest.
    Thanks for the tips.

It’s crazy that so many people have that same rattle. My 2016 Sport had and my 2017 Off Road has it. I used some felt between the panels and it has stopped it for the most part. Still get a “tick” every now and then on really cold days, but it’s not bad. Maybe I’ll try the round foam that @shakerhood used to quiet things down further.

Now if I can just track down the rattle in the seat belt adjuster and the one in the headliner behind the sunroof and the one under the passenger seat, I’ll be all set!

The popping/rattle started for me when the cold started. I shimmed the speaker with some black foam board. It's been driving me nuts! Hoping that fixes it.

Fellas, I'm telling ya its the A pillar trim piece, push the base of it in with smooth hard push while rotating the base near the windshield towards the door,...

I'll give that a try tomorrow.
It was annoying the shit out of me earlier today just driving around my neighborhood on smooth roads, about 60* out for those who think it's temp related.

My thought is if one is going to go through the trouble of removing the A pillar and tweeter cover you might as well combine this fix with the Subaru Tweeter swap. I think I will order the Subaru Tweeter then do this fix when I install the tweeters.

Just took a look at it and it is mounted fine, there are no gaps or anything indicating that it was installed incorrectly....so it's not a matter of banging it into place. The part by the windshield definitely moves if you tap the a pillar, I think it's just a shittly designed piece, and both sides seem the same but I only hear the passenger side.

I haven't done anything yet but it looks like the only fix is to wedge something in there to keep it from vibrating; unless there's an upgraded a pillar & grill.

So far I've had no more annoying sounds after adding that shim.

Well I'll be damned. My 18 was doing the same thing and this was just after about 2000 miles and I just couldn't figure out where it was actually coming from. At one point I thought it was coming from under the hood at first. Of course the dealer couldn't duplicate it. Anyway it eventually stopped and I haven't heard it in months.

    Edit:
Let me also add that my truck is in a tropical climate where it rarely gets below 70 degrees..
