Ill be looking for some spindles down the road ;)

Most likely, i will downsize from the 887s to the 884s at the same time as the spindles.

bravo, do you drive your truck daily? I'm thinking about 'down grading' to a 2nd gen but, my current 3rd gen was the first taco/truck I ever bought. Found this build thread and can't stop staring at your pics haha. pros and cons of this set up (i'd want to do the same lift) would be super helpful, cheers!

It is my daily, although I live in the city and can walk to work ;)

I have no complaints from the setup whatsoever. It's perfect for what I needed. Bilsteins are by no means top of the line, but far better than any kind of spacer lift. You can spend a bit more for some Icons or Kings, and the ride quality would definitely be improved over the 5100s, but I just didn't see the need (maybe one day :p).Ride quality is good paired with the OME 887s, especially after removing the sway bar. Lots of people ask about the 887s vs the 885s - they are the exact same spring rate, but the 887s are a little taller. This allows you to get the full 3" without having to run top-plate spacers (on the 885s). The kit i got from Headstrong came with a 1/4" spacer for the drivers side to fix the drivers side lean.

There's a lot of guys on here that run this setup. Firmer overall, but in a good way if that makes sense. I would recommend doing UCAs at the same time if you can, I was over 3" right after install. Many forum members claim they have no issues getting good alignment specs with factory UCAs, and there's nothing wrong with that, but you'll notice a night and day ride difference.

I personally am stoked that I got a new '15 right before the 16s came out. Nothing against the 3rd gens at all, but I just love the 2nd gens.

wow thanks for this, really appriciate it, a few days ago the idea of a 2nd gen popped into my head. and ur build was the first one i stumbled upon. Saw the pics and thought, well damn i could deal with that. hahaha. it was irresponisble of me to have bought such an expensive truck (my 3rd gen) and sense its having some (minor) issues i'm starting to think why the hell am i breaking my bank for something thats not perfect. plus after buying my truck ive gotten alot more into off roading and it sucks with my 3rd gen cause i'm terrified of fucking it up cause it's my biggest asset. i'd be a little more daring with a used truck thats costing me almost 1/2 the price. thanks again man, you're truck is so bad ass lookin'

did you have a big power loss with the 285s? seems most people on 3rd gen forums say they're too heavy but i'm thinking that may be cause the 3rd gens don't have much power in low rpms. hows your expereince been? thanks again!
