will that be 2016 'fest bier, or 2015 leftovers ?? I find Oktoberfest brews have to be really fresh, or they tend to get skunky as its a rather sweet beer.

I specifically told them I wanted a new batch when it comes out. I agree with you that this particular seasonal doesn't seem to last as long as some others.

If/when I get a 'fest beer, I've generally gone for Paulaner, how is the HB in comparision?

It's been about three years since I've had the HB. Nobody carries it locally anymore. I remember it being really good, but then again so is the Paulaner.

My favorite was from a local brewery in my town called Heiner Brau. The owner was a German brewmaster, but sadly the other owners bought him out, and he left. They changed the name, and they still make Oktoberfest, but it's nowhere near as good :/ He's at some brewery in Dallas now, so if you see Legal Draft making an Oktoberfest, buy as much as you can.

I tend to prefer hoppier ales that are drier (less sweet) than octoberfest styles...

Me too, but man when that summer swelter dies down, that style of beer is perfect. It's more of a signaling to my brain that fall is coming.

I drink 90% APA's and IPA's with some seasonal styles mixed in.

I've been having a low idle issue probably for a year. I changed the plugs, air filter, tried premium, tried ethanol free premium, and I couldn't figure it out. I cleaned the throttle body, thought I cleaned the MAF. So today I was looking at the board and I didn't realize you could remove the MAF and clean it. So tonight I cleaned the MAF with a Sierra Nevada Pale by my side, listening to Live radio on Pandora. It didn't look dirty, but cleaning it really made a freaking difference in my idle in gear.
Pic of MAF before, only pic I snapped.

just a tip... if you clean a MAF with the MAF spray they sell at auto parts stores etc, hold it so the electronics part is on top, and the sensor wire assembly is on the bottom, so when you spray it, the solvent doesn't drip into the electronics. learned this from many years of tinkering with Bosch MAF based volvos and mercedes...

Thanks for the tip. It's already back in and hopefully I won't have to take it back out for a while :) I've ordered the hub/wheel bearing assemblies from a user here, so I get to do that project soon!
