    I drive a 2006 SR5 4x4 with the tow package

im assuming it automatically comes with the rear mechanical lsd?

can someone tell me what they changed this model to, as in, what am i missing out on? the a-lsd and the like

what changes did they make to non-trd's but still 4x4's?

and is it really that helpfull, say in snowy/icy conditions

Did your truck comes with an owners manual? All your trucks features and how/when to operate should all be in there.

You do not have a mechanical LSD unless you bought a TRD Sport. TRD Off Roads and SR5's have an open differential (TRD Off Road's have a rear locker, SR5's do not). You do not have any of the driving aids like VSC or ATRAC either with your SR5.

As far as driving in the snow, it depends on the driver. With 4wd, having an open diff doesn't bother me. It will track better with an open diff and on the roads you shouldn't be flexed out enough to where one wheel would be off the ground to require the use of a locker (obviously, some people live in more sever climates than others).

Wow, cool. Thanks man...I've been hesitant to ask because it seems like a simple thing to know. My first 4x4 so I'm still learning (obviously).

    Appreciate it.

Thanks again. Now I don't have to open it up and look at the internals ; )

When you said some SR5s did, I got hopeful.
