    Since you just swapped the axle, re-torque the U-bolts soon, to reduce the likelihood of snapping another leaf...

    I'm pretty sure the leaf snapping was due to the five inch shackle on the archive garage shackle flip paired with the 11 ply All Pro Expo leaf springs.... super thin main leaf

    Re-torquing the U-bolts is to prevent another failure point at the center pin hole.

    It's been fun reading this thread, We often camped at Black or Round lake but that was 25 - 30 years ago (with a Suzuki Samurai Club) - and before GPS was common - still have my paper topo maps somewhere... I might be able to make it if it's not too busy at work...

    Campsite #1 - Black Lake - circa 1995 - We usually ran the north trail - don't think the route of the hydro line has changed much, but the side trails / obstacles / mud holes are all different
