I went with the OVtune. Don't know anybody personally with the kdmax, so I can't speak from experience on it's performance. I've seen quite a few people on TW and the reddit forums who went from KDmax to OV and were happy with the change. There's a guy, who's pretty active on this site as well, yotatunes I believe?? That services all of southern Ontario. I got him to tune my 2nd Gen and 3 months later I'm still quite happy with the results. My brother just got his 3rd gen done and says it's a night and day difference. (Met up with him in Vaughan, he has certain dates for different cities)

If anybody is interested in hearing about being a KDMAX tuner lemme know he said $2k and a good laptop to get started seems like a pretty big market and a way to make cash on the side. I can’t commit so I passed but I do want to get my truck tuned after reading about it

At $600 per tune, you'll get your money back in a week. I think yota tune does it as a job

Dave is the only on in Canada, he flies back and forth between BC/AB and Ontario. not sure how far he goes out but he usually stacks up a bunch of guys.

The issue is not the $600 price tag, but the charge fee Dave gets hit by the software to unlock the VIN number to be able to program. once the truck is unlocked, switching between tunes is significantly cheaper/easier but that was a while ago so not sure if he's still doing that (pretty sure he is)

Lots of people dropped KDMAX, a lot more are going towards the OTT9 tune right now. I run a modified version of OTT7 but since i've been in the Yukon for year, i wasn't able to get an update..

from what I’ve read KDMAX is ok the guys in the US rave how good it is but if you’re in Ontario you’re kinda hooped. Like a lot of things both are likely good but who’s driving to Detroit to get it done :)

totally agree a no brainer in terms of start up and ROI. I’d do it just for the tune lol
