There was only a liter of oil in the T-case to begin with. With so much leaked out it may be running dry. Good luck :fingerscrossed: as a replacement T-case isn't plug-&-play since you did the twin stick conversation.

That conversion is what kept me going, using 4lo rear, and only putting the front in when needed. I'm gonna check the leval today I still have a hard time thinking the transfer case chain is slipping, but who knows

    Well it's a mystery.
    1. Front CV shafts are good even dissembled the right side did not find anything wrong.
    2. Removed the front driveshaft. Tight lubed and good
    3. Drained front diff no metal no slivers of metal nothing. Rotated by hand can't feel or hear anything..
Transfer case. Well I fell short of removal as this is my daily driver and I need it tomorrow.
But no chain slap filled to 1/4" from fill hole. Smooth no noise.

    I'm stumped.

There a loud bang noise only happens in 4lo sounds like it's coming from right front and only when your on the gas trying to go over an obstacle.

Anyway any ideas just post it up. Thanks.

Front diff mounts are all intact? Engine/tranny mounts?

front diff is solid in there no movement trans/eng i did not rally check.
Imagine you have a drive shaft with 4 big splines for the slip yoke. now imagine is slipping over each other and making a bang every time. that's the sound. sounds like something is going to give. but there was one climb I just kept giving it just so i can hear the noise and seemed pretty constant with something rotating..

What happens when you attempt an obstacle in 4hi? That'll isolate it to the T-case or downstream driveline.

Are both front wheels getting power in 4x4?

I don't remember it ever making noise in 4x4 hi range. Actually no it dose not make noise in 4x4 hi.
I don't know if both wheels are getting power but I don't see why they wouldent. its an open diff so I think so...

^Just wondering if the stub shaft that runs inside the front diff torque tube may have fractured.

had it all disassembled today. Wish I would have checked that. I did rotate the front diff by hand listening and feeling for anything. Removing and installing the cv on the right side seemed normal. Thank you its something for me to check another day. As for the noise only Tacoma16 and Norlisk can varify if that was it, kinda sounds like it...

I was just looking at some old parts I have and I don't think if these shafts broke it wouldn't make any noise while the wheels are turning so maybe that's not it.

I’m thinking it would be the cv making the noise. If it was the tcase I think it would be even while driving. Hope that fixes it!

I ended up fixing my front bumper and then used the truck to get some stuff

On another note, I am finally back at 100%. Both lower shock mounts blown out and had to weld a Crack on drivers engine mount.

    ^^nice old-school drill press!

Wonder if it was inevitable or because you messed with it. The mounts are known to fail. Did the martec mounts have issues or the stock ones?

glad she starts as she should. The bumper get used for those wide turns because trail limo lol
